So here’s why Cipher’s not going to get banned
(at least for the forseeable future)

If I ban Cipher, then I have ban Zipserpe because he said “we’re talking about games that aren’t that great so here’s better games to talk about”. I have to ban appo even though he’s a mod because he posts another growing pains post about SFV and then has to talk about Ultra IV or MK or something else only some of us play.

I’m pretty sure if he’s posting here, he’s probably actively posting in other places where they probably haven’t banned him. I’ve been in the SRK Discord and I remember him being in there for at least a little bit. They even tolerated Yorkey for a little bit before he got triggered and left or whatever happened. Yorkey was almost enough to ban just because of how strange he was.

If I’ve had to ban Po at least 3 more times than I’ve ever felt I’ve needed to ban Cipher, he’s probably not that bad.

Back in 2004 Dark Ages SRK a mod would get laughed at for banning Cipher. He doesn’t call everyone shitfaces, he doesn’t ask for their address to come beat them up, he doesn’t go on Po tirades where we’re all evil subhumans that are bringing the video game landscape down for liking and buying Capcom/SFV stuff full agenda mode…that’s just shit that would be stupid to ban him on. Him calling you an 09er is some bitch shit to ban him on.

I don’t even remember if you can ban someone from PMing you, but I remember a guy who didn’t like that I thought Sentinel sucked in MVC3 in the tier thread. He came into my PMs like “mother fucker, you talking shit about whackbot that’s bullshit. I know the type of person you are, you ain’t really shit.” Just because I don’t like whackbot.

Other than that, he’s not getting banned, but he’s helping us get to 10K so that works.

I am not a mod here. I’m more than willing to share what the thought process is behind stuff so you guys can have better grounds for discussion. But outside of adding stuff to your titles, I am NOT moderating anything. This is DevilJin’s area which is moderated how he sees fit.
I post here because I like talking about current games and because I’m not in charge of it.
People have gotten banned for being hilariously shitty. Each subsection in SRK is different and modded differently. Depending on the subforum, the mod and the year, somebody would’ve looked at you twice.

Highland literally had nothing to defend himself in the end, so he choose to jump out of the window with the bomb in his hand.
