Only talks about how great SFIV was.
Only bring up SFIV for comparisson.
Has literally 0 idea about any old school FG.
Brings up SFIV “rules” as old school FG rules.
Constantly brags how good SFIV was compared to this game.
Gets proven wrong by Jin 9/10 times with ease.
Is a Sagat Main.
Thats more than just 09er Material, thats like a blueprint for a 09er.
I’ve been posting on here since 2002 because of my love for this great franchise, despite its many perceived shortcomings and disappointments throughout the years, I kept my focus on what made me happy and what made others in the community happy. That second bit is most important because I love this community in all its colors.
Since moving to Discourse, I’ve found it slowly but eventually exceedingly difficult to enjoy my time here. This is mainly because for the first time, I am not allowed the privilege of controlling my experience. Threads have been replaced with a ‘feed’ or a ‘timeline’ akin to social media (I hate social media), and they operate like a continuum. This changes the relationship between my eyes and the screen and makes it difficult to focus on or ignore any post. I also do not have the option to ignore or hide users or posts as I desire.
As I scroll through my SRK/SF5 ‘feed’ which I willingly participate in because I am a FAN of STREET FIGHTER (5) I have to endure posters like Cipher every single day who to put it brutally, do not belong here. The amount of negativity (not the same as criticism or debate) that we are constantly bombarded with in a FAN forum of all things forced me to ask myself, what I am ‘feeding’ myself every day? Whatever you want to call it, it is not something I want to go through with everyday anymore for the foreseeable future.
Surely, we all have enough shit to deal with in our personal lives that we do not need even more shit to deal with here. I spent/spend more time with some people here than my own family so much so that I consider the friends I made here to be family (you know who you are <3). We all come here for our love for fighting games, and SF above all else, but we all stayed for years, decades even because of community and fellowship. Behaviors that threaten our sense of community should not be tolerated.
The administration here do not see this as a problem apparently, despite consistent complaints from several prominent users. Hence why members like Cipher are allowed to continue their flamebaiting and trolling at the expense of the overall well being of the SRK experience. Worse still like I mentioned previously, is that we are not given the option like before to control our experience and ignore users. \
So the message is clear, not only are you telling us to shut up and take it, you are also handicapping us while we are asked to do it. No thanks.
Until the administration act on this matter, I will not be participating in SRK any longer.
Cool, let’s play this game: let’s ban people who have shown exceeded shitty behavior on multiple occasions.
Guess how many users this subforum is losing?
Secondly, how would you like to rewrite rules to take care of somebody like Cipher?
Clapping somebody for being ultra shitty has happened multiple times on SRK. But what’s the rule that’s gonna be written and what’s the standard that’s going to be followed. In which way would you like DJ to enforce it?
Well this fucking sucks. Losing posters I actually like for trolls that have nothing positive to contribute. For the life of me, I’ll never understand why people frequent a topic of something they dislike. It’s like the forum version of Twitch chat. Except at least I can hide Twitch chat.
Nah fuck that noise. A lot of us shit on this game and Capcom. Cipher suggests much better balance changes that’d help this game more than most and drops GG knowledge.
Yeah a lot of us shit on this game. Cipher does nothing but troll. Dude doesn’t like the game. I don’t have a problem with that, but if you don’t like SFV at all. Why are you posting in the SFV topic. It would be like me going to a Tekken topic and shitting on the game all day because I hate the franchise. I don’t like Tekken so I don’t post in Tekken topics.
Yes because this isn’t MK discussion. It’s SFV discussion. If they go to the MK topic and shit on it then I agree with you but if they do it in this thread so what. It’s the STREET FIGHTER V thread. SFV. Not MK.
