Am I the only one that read this as “Kage has a shit range st.hp”?

Yeah she really does, some are just maddening.
But for all her drawbacks if you can get momentum going she’s pretty fun.

No kids. 2 cats and a dog.

I honestly think that most of us could make Diamond if we put in the time. Not throwing shade at Pertho - I saw him grinding out matches pretty much every time I hopped on so he did the work - but more a compliment to how this place is. People here are legit dedicated and approach the game in a way that I think is what you need to get there. Maybe we all won’t be UGMs and Warlords but I think we can all make a good run at it.

Was re-reading old stuff and came across an article that I think fits my online ranked experience:

https://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2009/12/how_to_create_motivation_for_2.html

The article is focused more on writing and art but I think it applies to any pursuit that requires practice and effort. I know I’ve found a lot of reasons to not get practice matches in or even try to play the game in the past. Which is fine sometimes, can’t always be playing. But a lot of it was procrastination and fear of failing.

One of the reasons I’m trying to stick with playing games, results be damned. The most important thing is learning, trying to apply, returning to the lab, try to apply the new stuff, and so on. Gonna be ups and downs but the key thing is to keep working on it. Little by little if need be. Can’t get better by not playing.

Also Skort you got the like both because Laura has some clusterfuck match ups and because it looks like you managed to reply to yourself.

Agreed you will never rise to the very top with out being honest dedicated to it.

I don’t have the time, or often the will power for it anymore.

I am old.

On the subject of kids: no. But:
I got married a month ago.
I swear I can hear loud squealing noises from my wife’s ovaries whenever there’s a baby in the room.

Do the math.

No.

Part of it is that I am stubborn. Because the game defies me to learn it, I want to keep at it. I don’t think I have ever played a game less intuitive to learn than this one (at least for me).

Also nice to have something else to focus on what with all the other stuff I have going on. Online SFV salt is still lower grade than real life generated salt.

Like this last minute work bullshit that just came up arghrable

I’m stubborn as fuck and hate losing. I’ll be damned if I’m gonna take loses in sfv and just quit. Fuck that. Pretty much my mentality going into this game.

I have the same issue, I find many aspects of the game very unintuitive (notably the upclose game). It’s much better than SF4 in that regard though.

I don’t think I’ve ever raged at a game as much or as seriously as I have at this game. And on the other side I haven’t been as hype when I do something clutch as in this game. And if I had a normal job I have no doubt I’d be diamond, but this game requires a solid chunk of time to be good at.

@Illwill , @GetTheTables , @Skort happy Thursday

If they had went with a more sultry voice for her she would be higher on the waifu tier list.

daily reminder that UNIST is a beautiful game.

Speaking of which, how many people here got into it?

I will never ever understand why when they made Laura the latina sexpot character they thought that it would be a good idea to give her a ditzy cheerleader voice.
