I’d like to know what buffs could push kage from low tier to top tier.
i thought gief could combo into regular spd?
ryu had a spin state crush counter on S.HP i think and he hit LIKE A TRUCK
birdies bullhorn allowed him to link super on people falling down after they got hit by it but now it only works on cancels
ken could combo 3 ex fireballs outside of vtrigger
chun li had SF4 like jab combos and could jump cancel her super like 3s in one of the builds
If others become top tier in want them to be Juri,Sagat,Falke.I just want to see these played at the highest competitive level.Sick of the same faces for years in a row.
Top Tier Juri and Falke might make it worth to look into this game again

I made a post about it before. But basically Kage has issues with his fierce attacks that make it hard for him to have good damage access.
cr.mp > st.hp works
st.lp(blocked) > cr.mp > st.hp does not work
cr.mp(counter-hit) > cr.hp works
st.lp > cr.mp(counter-hit) > cr.hp does not work
He can’t get damage out of cr.mk xx fireball like he could in IV, so his close conversions matter so much more, but he rarely finds an opportunity to cash out for more than 200 on a hit, regardless of regular or counter-hit.
This affects his blockroutes and stuff too because now you’re working around a very inconsistent arsenal of trap tools, which is what Kage is best at. Even if you use HK.Stomp pressure, there’s no payout for landing that +3 on block, because he’s too far to convert into more than 200 if they eat the next normal.
His whiff punishes are also pretty bad. The biggest problem is that Kage is only scary at range 1, but he can’t cash out with damage - which is what he’s supposed to be at 900/900 for - high damage and walk.

To much Cammy and to little variation in SFV lead me straight into the arms of anime and best girl Lambda.
Game was way to empty and Cammy wasn’t exactly what you would call someone exciting to play.
Still for the 1 Year I played the game, she allowed me to kick people into the face a lot.

Leaving out st hp, the char cant even frame trap effectively. St lp > cr mp > st mp whiffs. Even cr mp > st lp > st mp whiffs unless opponent presses a button. And cr hp is heavy damage route but you are only likely to ever get the hit from a jump in or a ch confirm. And i doubt they’ll increase the range of these normals, buffing range of normals (by anything more than 000.1) isnt something capcom does. They have a model/design of a char’s moveset which corresponds with animation and they work they way around it without making major changes.

Yeah, precisely. He took a hit to health values for improved damage output but doesn’t have it in practice.
You give him that damage output and he’s gonna be real scary because you’ll be scared to try and escape in fear of eating the damage, which opens up the throw option.

Kage has a 6 frame st.hp.
That’s amazing.
It’s not worth being 6f when it has the range of a jab, it has no practical application with its low frames.

Everytime I hear about some crazy shit from sfv beta I wish they’d bring it back. Well mainly for mid tier and lower. Probably wouldn’t help with their fundamental problems but oh well.
And props to all y’all grinding ranked trying to get those high ranks. I got Platinum and that might as well be warlord to me lol. I did run some sets with a super diamond kage though, he won the first and last 2-1 but I did 2-0 him the middle set.
