G VT1 air V Skill might as well be a dive kick. Powered up G spin kicks are basically dives also.

Yeah I agree with this in principle, I’m not sure Honda would really be a great fit for SF5 without a redesign. I think T. Hawk would need a redesign.
I think the twins and Fei would be fine. i think Oro would work well. I think Gouken could work well. And I think Makoto would need to be designed really carefully but would work well too.
Seems like you just like mobile female characters with good buttons. The female characters in SF/anime games tend to be mobile any way.
Then you also like Potemkin because he’s big and not like them.
Her top tierness has never had much to do with her divekicks. In AE they nerfed her divekicks and she became better.
Twins and fei have really strong options to reset pressure and/or get in. On top of big mixups and damage. I don’t think this game could handle them without major tweaks.
Gouken I agree is a good fit with only minor changes (e his back throw would need a tweak).
Give G a dive kick.
My point was that they are a core part of her kit. Without the dive kick the whole character is a lot less meaningful.
Also, even though AE nerfed the dive kick, it was still really good.
Your a cammy player. Your opinion doesn’t count. You think her dive kick is just a normal thing.
For Gouken I think you could copy him over wholesale, or almost. st.MP being THE BUTTON was a very SF5 sort of thing. His lights already couldn’t link to mediums. Damage and stun values on his specials would have to be lower almost for sure, which would partially solve the back throw issue, but I’d rather his back throw just be a command throw with high startup. Ultra 1/Super would make a fine CA. They’d have to nerf sweep. Handshake is obviously crush counter.
I agree, he would only need very minor tweaks.
Though I would like to see one aspect changed more radically. I like new things. After all, If you want to play OG Gouken, SF4 is still there.
Except her divekick became a big part of her gameplan starting in SF4. So it wasnt really that big of a deal for a chunk of the character’s life.
Safe drills were way more integral and they legit got rid of her ability to do them.
I am admittedly not very knowledgeable on older SF games.
Was cammy considered a good character in any of them (pre dive kick)? I know she was quite bad in ST.
They never removed her divekick oki options from throws so I mean
She is top tier in CvS2 for reasons having jack all to do with her divekick and she’s bad in ST for reasons having nothing to do with divekicks.
In A3 she is probably mid. No idea actually. Almost guaranteed that her divekick will have little to do with it.

Well, there’s his ground stomp move from Omega. It’s pretty cool, even if it’s just sort of a shitty axe kick/sakura light/medium tatsu sort of thing.
You’d probably have to put Kongoshin on his v-skil even if it’s a little bit boring.
