SFV Lounge: Revealed DEEZ NUTZ! They don't reveal $H1T. Momochi plz wakeup super

lol the horror!

nobody was popping nadeshiko as a reward for getting hit and bypassing your long limbs 20 years ago. we’re talking about street fighter 5. nobody can reliably protect a life lead vs the unga that exists. having a bullshit trigger that enables menat to come back from other peoples’ trigger bullshit is just something that she needs to have to compete

You make it sound like Menat cannot go on the offensive. She has ways to open you up, you can’t just block once you have the lead or she will put you in the corner and run you over.

she is literally the worst character in the game at it

Then real talk, maybe she shouldn’t exist in a game she doesn’t fit in. Seriously, we’ve come to the point where we’re talking about why a keepaway character built on pokes can’t just melt someone’s health in 3 seconds after one guess.

Tekken had the same issues with UE4 as SF5 did. Not only that the extra input lag is largely in part to Capcom programming. You disable a couple of graphical effects and suddenly the game plays differently.

The PS4 has tits all to do with that. Namco fixed the issue, Capcom mostly shrugged its shoulders.

With that throw range? An OH you can make safe a cancellable good low forward and drills?

Shit, NRS proved that despite how you feel about their games, that you can outright overhaul an entire netcode from basically the ground up in the middle of your game’s lifespan. At this point in time, there’s no decision you’re “stuck” with or issue that you have to live with. If a developer wants to fix something, they can. Capcom has always chosen not to bother whenever possible.

Yeah, I was gonna say that. UE4 was not fully baked. They updated the engine, and that allowed the reduction of input lag.

Dude, the UE4 shit affected PC as well, and when they fixed that PC stayed superior, right now PS4 is a little over 4.4 while PC is a little under 3.2.

This looks “promising”.

that’d be an insightful way of framing this if every single other character in the game didn’t also do that
the risk reward of how menat interacts with the neutral is already accounted for in her kit. vtrigger isn’t even a factor here; it’s an equalizer against the other vtriggers in the game, almost all of which are just as bad as hers (or at this point worse). you’re just gibbering

Yeah. Her throw gets her terrible reward, just taking the throw vs her is as good of a strategy as possible as her. Her overhead is reactable and only safe if she has an orb set up already, which isn’t free. The frame data on her drills are terrible, nowhere near as good as sim’s, same applies to her slide. Who would you say has worse rushdown than no vtrigger Menat?

I vote Nash, but it’s just a kneejerk answer.

Probably Sagat too.

And even at 3 bars her VT1 is better than anything either of them are working with.

Alex, Chun, Falke, Sagat and depending on PoV Nash, Juri and Claw.
Also the reward of Menat’s throw of sending you at a range where she’s at a definite advantage, make it happen twice the opponent is most likely in the corner.

Similar to Falke’s VT2 except at least you get a safe/plus VTC. Everything Falke has in her VT2 is pretty heavy minus on block except for a very reactable/AAable overhead that doesn’t even put you in throw range if blocked in most scenarios. Basically if you weren’t already winning it doesn’t help much at all.

The things she gets in her VT2 don’t even really extend her neutral game which is even worse than Menat VT2.

Her VT1 doesn’t neutralize shit other than an opponent’s lifebar. It’s not the grand “equalizer” you think it is. Her VTs SHOULD be defensive in nature, something to make sure she isn’t robbed of a victory. Hell, a VT that outright disabled another’s VT would be a neat trick.

But no, instead her VT1 just gave her robbery potential even if you played like shit. Which is somewhat fine for characters like a Mika or Laura who are meant to try and maul people to begin with but is a complete antithesis for Menat even in the basis of SFV. No, there are plenty of characters who don’t come close to having what Menat VT1 was or even is now. And they compete, shit the Top 4 of Final Round was all characters with relatively fair V-Triggers on top of fair gameplans.

So no, fuck using “it’s SFV, everyone needs robbery” as an excuse. Maybe a season ago, maybe even half a season ago. But now? No fucking excuse for any character.

No fucking way Chun and juri don’t have better rushdown than menat with no trigger. Hell I’d even be hesitant to put claw on that list, atleast he has a CG and good walkspeed.

Pretty much. The 2 characters in GFs of Final Round weren’t even trigger robbery characters. It’s an important aspect of the game, but having strong tools before v trigger is just as or more important.

Menat is one of the best characters at winning without V Trigger as well. It’s just a hard fact and she’s still the best character in the game at winning without engaging and playing passively. Something very important in this kinda game.

Menat forces you to play her game more so then any other character in the game.

She is not a v-trigger character, but when she activates she is a v-trigger character.

Chun has a grand total of 3 +ob normals, and a terrible jump arc, her rush down is all about taking a risk. Juri and Vega are in the PoV category because it depends on how you feel, I don’t feel like Claws CG is enough to make him better at rush down than Menat and Juri has a bad case of whatever the polar opposite of okizeme is. It’s the way I feel about it but I can totally understand why someone would have a different opinion, hence the PoV category.
