Man i don’t even get it lol. So it uses my tvs hardware to run games?
Nah, your chromecast will. The server is running the game and you send inputs to it.
That sounds like a recipe for hyper lag
Console exclusive was terrible for the business side, they should just release the game on everything and then tournaments can find the best console to use. Notice I didn’t say platform, because that would be a PC, like it is now and it was before, but TOs don’t want (reasonably) to deal with technical problems of having hundreds of different controllers settings and drivers sorted out on every machine every tournament.
Anyway PS4 was an horrible experience
Also fuck dressing up if it requires more than a polo it ain’t for me.
Bum ass job fair.
This is real, and it’s nice, but it doesn’t have much to do with comebacks. It’d be a lot nicer if Menat could still build bar as reliably as she could in the past with st hp spam, but right now if you’re keeping someone out in a way where this would be the most useful, you won’t build vt2 in the first place
This is so circumstantial that it basically never happens.
Menat isn’t most other characters. She has specific needs. She’s not Birdie where damage extension off of pokes is OD because he can just sit there and eat donuts and he has some actual ways to get somebody off of him. When it comes to a comeback when you’re at a large life deficit, you can just turtle up against Menat and then she has a big problem: she has no real way to approach you. She has to do some bullshit with drills or open herself up with orb throws, which basically every character in the game has an answer for if they’re looking for it. Vt1 addresses this. If someone turtles up vs your vt1 you can put them into a mixup blender. Vt2 doesn’t, and that’s it’s biggest problem. You can get pretty much 1 mixup off of it with a heavy send, but if your mixup is blocked, you don’t get a way to reload without opening yourself up. You can’t even reload off a throw. And the damage you can get off of heavy send mixups is pretty low to begin with.
On a character with a different kit, yeah, it’d probably be a really good trigger, but on Menat’s kit its impact is just not that high. The one big exception is she can make it do work vs projectile characters especially if they let her absorb.
Hmmm her VT2 is underwhelming at best, sucks at worst. I’ve seen Sako do some cute stuff with it, but Menat is better off with a trigger that helps open people up. VT2 doesn’t really extend her pressure or gameplan much.
Menat can win without V Trigger so might as well stick to the trigger that lets her win better if she gets it.
Yet Google is so ambitious, they seems to be shying away from VR and focusing more on multiplayer interaction which are more trendy issue because of streaming.
Don’t care. I’m in the community side, I don’t work for Capcom. When I work for Capcom that’ll be some sort of concern for me.
This is specially hilarious coming from people outside of the US. As it is, it is expensive to invest in two consoles when you live in US. Don’t think you process how extra ridiculous it would be a for a lot of the planet to buy a console and the game to later found out you bought the wrong one. That shit happened with PS3/360 (I bought a PS3 because it was used at Evo) and never got a 360 because fuck it. That noise can go choke on it. It also increases the costs and the gambling done by the TOs and console providers for tournaments.
Not really. DCs were a horrible experience since those things actually died during tournaments and would get sledge hammer at Evo by the staff. It consolidated the player base all in one spot. If the game were better, it’d be more active. Regardless of that, a lot of the issues you probably blame on the PS4 are likely to be SF5 issues that Capcom dropped the ball on.
During Ps3/360 era, every other FG ran better on the PS3 than the 360. It was only literally Capcom games that ran better on 360. So…yeah. Fuck all that multiplatform noise.
You could say something like “but what about which runs better?” Arcade ran at one speed, PS3 ran a bit slower than arcade and 360 ran faster than arcade. That means that neither of the ports were accurate.
Input lag for streaming could be as low as 1ms if they have enough server locations. It’s gonna vary by area tho.
I think you’re SFVing the notion of comeback. It’s not just a comeback if you can touch them once, activate and suddenly melt their whole HP because they guessed wrong twice, that is bullshit before being a comeback.
Not that I don’t understand what you mean, but having a a potential 600 damage off hit confirming 2 pokes and you get that while still hovering around 50% health, with the chance of having it again at the end of a round, makes for an honest comeback resource.
Online play on PS3 was trash though. No matter the game, the online was better on XBL.
but this is the whole point. why would people get hit by stray pokes vs menat when they have a big life lead? you can’t rely on that. if you could then menat wouldn’t need help with comebacks to begin with.
you can call that bullshit more than a comeback, that’s fine, but we’re playing sfv, and it’s the only reliable way menat is ever going to make comebacks. i’m not gonna open somebody up with st mp. she needs some bullshit.
Kind of a head scratcher though:
If you’re playing casually it doesn’t really matter which platform you play on, if invest into going at tournaments, you are going to invest in the tournament standard platform if you made the wrong choice.
As for PS4 problems, outside of the fact that the bloody thing has horrid load times (I was laughing my ass off when I 1st saw the game being launched from scrap at my local and having to wait about 10 minutes to get to the menu) and it has had consistently 1.5/2 extra frames of input lag compared to PC. That ain’t Capcom, that’s all PS4 baby.
Going back to this old convo, one thing that seems to have been lost in this new gen is the idea that you learn how to run an offense and defense with your character. A lot of people have a weird goofy one track mind and think they’re character is supposed to be played X, & or Z way. Part of that is SF5’s fault for hyperspecializing tools. That has somehow gotten into the mentality of the players though.
Take Falke for example. The meme is that she can’t really make a comeback if she has a life deficit. So to fix that they gave her that meme Vt2 with the slow overhead (which I’ve eaten, rip me ). But what Falke can do is control you in the corner and flavorblast you with shotgun blasts until you have to do something. Problem is that if she’s all up in your grill hitting you with +2 blasts, you aren’t really going to do much about it. You add the fact that heavies and mediums are adding grey damage on top of the shotgun chip and well, somebody is gonna have a bad time.
So there are old strats that have been kind of lost to people. That’s why Bison was underplayed for 3 years. Go back two years in the SF5 subforum time machine and you’ll have a lot of people that didn’t understand what a terrible idea it was to “just block” Bison doing + pressure for 10 second strait. FANG kind of falls into that same issue in that, if he has you blocking, he has you eating chip damage and grey life by the layers.
Old Zeku can run an offense and do goofy mix ups. you don’t see it a lot because people would do young gun shenanigans. That’s also kind of what makes SF2 so dynamic, even keep away dhalsim can rush you down and Honda can play both offense and defense. Your characters had tools to do things (and chip damage to help an offense).
Looking at your character and asking “Alright, how do I play you in the opposite way they want me to?” gives you a good way to reassess your toolset.
Which is the problem to begin with. A comeback should not be a given in any game. Menat’s weakness SHOULD be an inability to effectively climb out of a life deficit, because her strength is her ability to easily protect a life advantage. You never saw Sim players bitch all that much in 20 years over not being able to climb out of a hole.
You’ve never dealt with ST sim Noogie loops, have you?
Oh I have, I just don’t call it something given to him so he could come back. I call it, everyone in ST has some stupid bullshit to win immediately, it’s kind of the fun of ST.
