Although i have a stick i play ed on pad, and Psycho upper might aswell be one button. I’ve been keeping it real simple too. Blew up a akuma that 4-1’d me the other day. Ex psycho upper’d through his buttons, cornered and got oki (yh ed gets oki on both wakeups from ex psycho upper, crazy). On his wake up i ex psycho upper’d again, which allowed me to cover multiple option selects of his (no galaxy brain shimmy needed), and since my vt2 bar never ended i combo’d into air psycho snatcher. Around 240 damage overall. Dirty, but was beautiful, And i won the match.

Sam Sho has single buttons that do the damage of whole combos. That’s already going to scare the kids away.

Find a balance between different way of thinking will be always hard, look at Mike Ross, he got threw up by the same world he contributed to create. I don’t remember where I’ve heard that, but someone said ‘the best SF is the one where you invested more time and efforts in it’, I agree 100%. With SFV Capcom goal was gaining more casuals as possible and possible convince them to stay through an accessible game and a lot of aesthetic things like costumes or stages. What they didn’t consider was the previous gen of players who were used to a more skill demanding game with less useless stuff and more depth to work with. Who loved SF4 to death will never love SFV and viceversa, Capcom just failed to find a middle ground to make everyone happy, but honestly that was almost impossible to achieve. What’s frustrating for those who invested a lot of time on SF4 (me included) is the apparently lack of skill wall where previously dumb things like mashing lights,dashes and jumps in SFV are not only legit,but almost encouraged. Dreaming to be the next Daigo is no more a goal, at least not for what he accomplished in SFV.

It’s kinda same thing as your favourite band going main stream. You like music, you probably play guitar , you appreciate the band and the tune.
Band makes it big , next thing your little sister is singing the words to your favourite band and you feel dirty as fuck and immediately don’t really like your favourite band anymore.

You should have invested a lot of time in Sam Sho 2, Alpha 2, and 3rd Strike Chun. Just be basic.

Never played SamSho (or SNK games in general), I’ve played Alpha 3 from the start and I’ve discovered 3s too late to be involved with Chun cr.mk madness.
One day I will be able to tell stories and legends about SFV Birdie EX Dolphin Dive and EX Bullhead, can’t wait.
SF4 looks fine. It’s actually aged a lot better than most games from that era.
