SFV Lounge: Revealed DEEZ NUTZ! They don't reveal $H1T. Momochi plz wakeup super

I may be wrong from memory but I thought 360 version still had lower delay.

SFIV just feels much better and more responsive for the most part. Net code is garbage in both games but there is no excuse for SFV’s online experience.

pc netcode experience usf4>>>>sfv alone due to one sided rollbacks. thats a nogo. when shit went down in usf4 it counted for both players and thats how it should be!

I agree actually one sided rollback does not get brought up enough. Capcom deserves some burns for that shit but everyone is so easy handed on it.

SF4 - 3 to 4 man lobby’s. Talk shit to each other. Quick turnaround.

SF5 - one private slot invite only .

“Thanks for the match!”

My 2 cents on SF4 execution vs SFV.

I actually agree with the basic premise, that SFV doesn’t have the tallest skill ceiling, and that sometimes makes it feel like there’s less to learn.

I disagree that SF4 really did it better. SF4 was a mess of inumerable weird interactions. The development of all the OS’s kept the game from being a total clusterfuck. At the highest level, this was fine. SF4s immense options trees were under control because everybody had passed the necessary execution barriers. At levels below that though, the game was very obtuse.

I don’t think SFV actually has substantially smaller option tree a lot of the time (it does sometime for sure), it just doesn’t hide those options behind layers of meta nonsense. A side effect of this is that gameplay looks more similiar at more play levels.

Also, regarding combo videos. Some of that is just driven by the removal of things people disliked. Examples: Fixing hit/hurt boxes so they have less janky interactions removed lots of combo video fodder. Removing jab links cut down half the possible combo routes, etc… I think both of those were overall good changes. Besides, combo video stuff, while fun, isn’t the most important to playing the game.

Sounds better to me~

Thing is I like the simpler execution of 5 , that’s something I’d keep.

The more complicated system of 4 didn’t make it a bad game.

People think folk liked complicated execution, when reality is they made it hard enough that if you got hit by a one frame link you could only respect it.

Nobody likes getting bodied by two buttons and you’re a complete liar if you do.

I don’t entirely disagree, I just think SFV errs on the better side, so to speak. I do agree SFV probably went to far.

Not to bring it up again, but SFxT has a good compromise on this. It had the same buffer we have in V (maybe a little smaller), but it still had plenty of more advanced things.

I think you want a balance of skill vs luck
, By what I’ve been told and I have no way of verifying this - SF6 will be even more casual friendly than SF5.

So this shows you were it’s all going.

I hold that game can be both casual friendly and good for the more hardcore.

As an example, smash brother (don’t shoot me), has always been able to walk this line very effectively. And other games like DBFZ (again, don’t shoot me) also pull off this trick decently well.

So, not all doom and gloom.

Nobody likes 3rd Strike then. You get bodied by one button in that game.

I guess Marvel 3 is more complicated because you need to press 4 buttons to get bodied. Alpha 2 it’s 3 buttons etc.

Never played any of them…

People that started with SFV gonna talk shit about SF6 and be like " back in my day we actually had to build our comeback mechanic and had a timer on it"

Shit gonna be funny.

SF6 is going back to Alpha 3 where you get your v trigger at the start of the first round.

Alpha graphics also for the full feeling or my immersion is ruined.

I’ve noticed a lot of older players have become noticeably jaded about fighting games in general. Everything from the accessibility to the E-Sports approach. Funny enough, I remember a lot of people complaining about the lack of $$ in the FGC. The accessibility part varies amongst others. I’m a filthy casual, so it doesn’t matter to me. Just don’t want to see one button Hadoukens or Tatsu’s in the future

I dunno. I’m a simple man. As long as a game can keep me playing for hrs and wanting to come back for more, I’m good.

That’s why I like you. No shame simple Cammy player. You press 2 or 3 buttons until you get the red bars and then press 2 buttons together and win. C is for Cookie and that’s good enough for you.
