SFV Lounge: No News after the grass, 10K POWERRRRRRR

Aris put out a vid that basically says, the hitbox people should push it as far as they can, may be surprised where the breaking point is.

I kinda agree, and Aris is one of the most dislikable people I see in the FGC.

I like how, when learning the hitbox, Daigo’s like: Yo this is fucking amazing, I can CA and charge so fast, dashing is instant with no visual tell whatsoever, it’s like I’m cheating.

And in the discussion video at CB him and Fuudo go: Yeah, people are letting their emotions get in the way of making an honest judgement. Just because arcade sticks are what’s used traditionally doesn’t mean people shouldn’t use a hitbox.

No, you fuck.
First you lose your mind about the obvious advantages the hitbox has like it’s the second coming of Christ, and now you’re trying to downplay it like people have an emotional attachment to arcade sticks?
Go home Daigo, you’re drunk.

Unless everyone plays a hitbox that thing should stay banned.

The bannable aspect to me was the fact that you can charge moves with our releasing the initial input. So as soon as he throws a Sonic Boom he’s already charging the next. You should not be able to continue holding Back while also hitting Forward. That’s bull shit.

I do that on pad :upside_down_face:

@Vhozite I think you have Netflix? I saw this movie called Furie and it’s kinda like Taken in terms of plot, except much better in the fight scenes and story, u should check it out if u want to watch a good martial arts movie.

These extra battle costume always look cool, hoping we get a Sigma costume for him at some point though.

No you don’t.

You physically can’t. It requires keys instead of a stick/rocker

:dahell:

It works on pad. The Sonic Boom type “cheat,” anyway, if I understand it correctly.

Use the control stick to hold back, and then use the d-pad as your forward “button.” D-pads are basically weirdly shaped buttons so it functions the same way, since you never need to use the joystick.

Of course it requires awkward finger placement, as much as I’m used to that from doing Ed flickers (even more awkward if you do it with flash kick instead of booms). Which of course is why that particular technique isn’t really brought up unless it’s hitbox and why I had the sarcastic emoji in that post~

Pad users can do it by holding back on the pad and flicking forward on the analog stick.

Lol yeah he went next level with his though. Adding extra jump buttons amd other nonsense. Daigo is hitboxing in the future.

That makes sense.

I didn’t think of using both stick and dpad together.

However that seems, as you said, prohibitively clunky on pad.

:jbhmm:

Sure, unless you somehow wire the right analog to behave lile the left one.

If you do that, you’ll be able to flick forward and a button with the same hand. Probably wouldnt be any much more finger dexterity than playing chords on guitar or piano.

I play both of those things and… maybe.

Still, I respect Daigo for going all out on the hitbox, and I mean it. The whole point is to give yourself a mechanical advantage by changing the controller, and he just went for it.

Oh I was assuming you were talking about breaking the dpad plastic, like some NES speedrunners do.

Naw fuck you homie hitbox for life. I’m fucking sick of dropping easy ass confirms in SFV. And I only if I wasn’t lazy and poor I’d i have less of that on shitbuax.

Down with sticks!!!

Following up on this pad could also block left/right and fuzzy hi/low in MvC3. :upside_down_face:

Pads can do some dirty shit too.

If you turn off the analog button, the right stick works like the face buttons, so you can actually hit diagonals on the right stick to have 2-button macros.

It’s what I use for VS/VT and I can do EX moves off it too.
Hell, I used to do Chun’s VS, stomps into EX Air Legs on it for shits and giggles. Look ma, no buttons!

You’ll probably lose Akhos’ charge shenanigans, but fuck Guile anyway.

It is. Sonic Boom isn’t the worst but you lose access to other buttons with your fingers.

I’m used to holding the pad in clunky ways though, I constantly switch my right hand’s position for Ed flickers

Left hand remains in the regular position for Psycho Rising and EX Psycho Upper (since PPP and KKK macros are on that side), right hand’s fingers press MK + LP and then immediately switches to piano MP → LP → MP. Ring finger keeps access to HP and HK if needed at that exact moment, and pressing the pointer finger on LP + LK techs throws.

For the Sonic Boom you’d have to move your pointer finger to the D-pad and leave the rest on the face buttons, but then you’d lose access to HP and HK. Unless you made HP and HK on the left side shoulder buttons instead and forgo the PPP/KKK macros.

Though after remembering it exists, I’ve been thinking about this guy, since it’s basically a pad but accessing HP or HK while prepping a flicker is less awkward

But reading the reviews for it I’m a bit iffy on if the quality is good enough. Hm.

Depends a lot on the model.

I wanted one too, but I realized it was too expensive for someone that doesn’t even have a local to go to.

Also, claw grip is disgusting. Put that shit in a spoiler tag.
