it’s not really about his AAs and fireball as much as it is his design inherently punishes you for not prioritising momentum, like sure he can play fireballs and neutral but at lvl0 you’re just hurting yourself, so you want them on the floor asap.
Lvl1 fireball is definitely garbage, if they can oki them into a corner than yeah I’ve seen them take it routinely, but trying to play ground at lvl1 is a really bad idea for most scenarios. He’s not some ideal character where having X/Y make him not rely on the knockdowns to stand a chance in a lotta MUs. Well, either that or get his ass beat so he can pop VT1.
G is good if you look at him on paper, tools galore, prolly the best 3bar in the game that isn’t Aegis, but throw him into a tournament scenario and I think he’s too inconsistent and momentum based to get far.
Well its a 3d fighter so what are your tastes based on that? Keep in mind pressure in DoA doesn’t work like it does in other fighters as everyone can counter everything so you can’t do braindead stuff. That said some characters are more aggressive than others, some want to hit buttons, some want to grapple like a motherfucker, and all points inbetween.
NDA no, but I do have a verbal agreement on stuff I can and can’t talk about or show. I am allowed to make videos/stream ahead of launch but cant show off certain game modes. I got the ps4 version.
Plenty of big lads like Bass and Raidou(who is Kano, if Kano succumbed to the Satsui no Hadou) and a lot of medium sized girls who play like big lads like Tina.
Grapplers are potentially better than ever in DoA6 since the % bonus for throwing a counter has gone up. Tina and Bass can chunk 60% off you in a single throw if they have the right read and are in a good position to take use of a stage wall or interactable.
There is no Cody at this time as no character is a jailbird. I guess Raidou was a criminal but he died thus absolving him of his sins he’s a new man now he’s an undead cyborg.
Bass is the giant hulk hogan/randy savage fusion guy. Military guy is Bayman. The characters in this game that can do massive damage on a correct read would be the grapplers I suppose. There are CH combos and the like but that’s mostly for stagger starters. Pretty much everyone can do a 50% combo now with full resource though because you can burn your super on a re-stand instead of the super itself.
So it goes like full combo -> super into restand -> combo again of course doa being doa there’s a chance they can counter but then doa being doa you can also fuck them horrifically for countering.
What about the not-Rig-not-Miguel char in DOA6? Is he the type of char Froz is interested in? I tried him during the demo but I clearly should have picked a ninja because I got my ass kicked up and down the street for trying to mash.
Diego? Diego’s whole thing is he’s brimming with guard breaks and he has a lot of wall/interactable throws that make him extra vicious in the corner. I haven’t had much time with him yet. Since DoA is like the most throw/grapple heavy fighting game period, I just revel in it and usually play the wrestlers.
I will say I am pretty sure with Diego’s moveset there basically is no way he is bad though. He’s the kinda character that will force bad calls and mistakes from a defender cause you just can’t sit and block him all day with all his guard breaks. You will want to go for that panic counter and that’s exactly when he will rock your world.
Well then yeah you want Diego. His whole thing is he is the “street fighter” its all undisciplined yet strong brawling style combat, on top of him being good as written above.
