You look more like Danny Glover Dime.
and 10 years later i finally found the video
enjoy
As i said numerous times, Gouken was a lot of fun.
Had his flaws for sure but the old man was quite unique and i would love him back.Kongo into super, demon flip grab and low counters into fadc into ultras never got old.
It looked flashy, it felt good and it did a lot of damage.
Respect for the master.
Hey guys I took the weekend off of SFV to replay DMC4 in prep for 5 and paint for the first time in a long time. What sick news did I miss?
Tried to catch up on the thread by reading but jesus 1,000 posts. Had to skip ahead after 500.
Thought SFV Top 8 was fun to watch. Loved seeing Fuudo in GF, I think Birdie will serve him really well this season. Still a bridesmaid but not for lack of trying. Good shit for Momochi.
Making my way through the other top 8s now. I forgot about BBCTB. Still have that game installed, might need to fire it up and check it out again.
Also congrats to @Evil_Canadian for getting the early DOA6 copy. Death to Yo Videogames! Long live the new flesh. Looking forward to the upcoming DOA content. I’m gonna need that sick noob tech for that super beta coming up.
I played SkyAkuma in a really fun ft5 back in Ultra on stream some yrs back. Really great Gouken player. He plays Mika in SFV.
Always pictured Dime as Wendell Pierce shaking his head when he reads posts in SRK that pisses him off and replying to them in essay form. The gif is Dime shaking his head at Frost when they were arguing a while ago.
I am replaying them all. This is what have so far:
- DMC1 is still worth playing, but the game is not relevant anymore
- DMC2 is the worst sequel ever
- DMC3 is still very, very good
This game needs to do a better job at emphasizing blocking is a good tactic. especially at lower levels.
Yeah I went through them again back when they originally put out the HD collection. Still skipped 2, everything I’ve seen for that game shows it to be a big dumb trash pile.
For my money 3 is still the best. I want to like 4 more but the enemies are kind of tedious so the fighting isn’t as much fun as I think it should be. Still the 2nd best one for me by a clear margin and I’m looking forward to playing as the other 3 chars since I never got around to it when the SE was released.
Counting the days to 5. Demo was fun, game looks fuckin’ sick.
And how. Problem is that wake up button -> VT pop -> comeback is very seductive I think, on top of how much better it feels to hit buttons than not hit buttons.
Last time I played I kept trying to meaty VSkill VT activate in the corner just for practice but the other person would not block to save their life so I popped them 2-3 times in a row with it. Like goddammit man just block for a second.
Some people will never learn.
Is MvC2 really making a comeback? Tried to search for stuff related to it and had no luck.
Its good if its making a comeback tho… but there still should be a re release, even though it will likely never happen
G is hella fun to play!
Everybody is scared of the cmd grab. muhaha!
Im surprised looking at the character stats for the month he’s dropped in character usage.
Gouken is the only reason I stuck with SFIV.
Yeah he is really fun. Having played him more I can see why say Japan didn’t rate him particularly high but he is more than good enough for online warrior’n.
I can definitely see why people would have dropped off of him. If you look at the narrative for the character he was initially regarded as a gorilla with super broken VT1 stuff. That kind of stuff makes people’s eyes light up.
In a broad sense that is accurate but I think he is actually tricky to play (such that anyone is tricky to play in this game). You need to manage the neutral well because he does not want to be on the defense and he has good offense but nothing crazy. And his VT1 is fucko but its also really easy to just waste it for not much return (which I’ve seen pretty much every G player online do) at which point you’re probably really far behind with no way to make up the life differential or hope to close out the game.
Long story short, I can see players picking him up because he has explosive damage and the character has a lot of flair but getting quickly disillusioned when it didn’t translate into a lot of free asskickings. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if most of the players that left G are the ones that bolstered up Kage’s #s.
I hate playing G, as you can play well the whole round and loose off of one bad guess.
I figured out that it is one of the matchups where I prefer using VT2. It is nice when you can get VT before him and every wakeup EX DP that you guess right is 350 damage.
Yes he is tricky to play and not as unga as many people think. Controlling the spacing is a challenge and kinda fun because he get so much damage from an AA. Exacution and buffering is a big part of his game, kinda leads me to think why players dropped him for easier characters.
There’s also so much layers to his game regarding matchups that haven’t been explorerd. For example I think the Guile matchup it’s best to stay at level 2. Fireballs become OP and you can stock up meter for ex wheel kick.
I’m too old for this shit Riggs
I like G aesthetically, but momentum is just too big of a thing with him for me to love his gameplay.
You have a fireball and good anti airs. Saying he needs to be on top of you forcibly is memes.
G is poorly designed in the same way Laura is; Totally mediocre until he gets started and then suddenly rolls you.
I know I suck for milking the opponent’s non-adaptation like this but I got a kick out of it lmao.
Life outside the FGC trenches. Where capitalizing in your opponent’s faults is rude.
