As I was playing ranked earlier today at least 3 of the last 7 or so people I fought with any platform search were PC players. So I tend to run into them often enough even on regular/any search.
I then decided to just try PC only search for ranked since you brought it up and I got mixed results at first. Got one guy first search in like 20 seconds. Then took like 2 or 3 minutes to get the next 2 players. Then after that got a couple more in like 20 seconds. I guess I can make that an option sometimes especially since the PC vs PC felt really good at least on my side. Occasionally on PC to PS4 I do get some spurt or something where it could have been one sided stuff.
Overall though sticking to 5 bars with ask for request option has helped for vs both PS4 and PC. I rarely get a connection that I’m disappointed with on my side as to before where I’m sure it was throwing me regular 2 to 4 bar connections that were real nasty even though I had automatic set to 5.
Hopefully you have a little better results searching for PC next time. I’ll have to try PC only tomorrow again for ranked and see what I get.
That’s probably the problem. I’ve only stuck with Battle Lounge with the search option. Never tried with ranked.
Question for the group. With EVO approaching, I’m looking at travel prep. I’ve traveled with my stick once before but that was a) just me lugging it to my in-laws house and not having to carry it after that, and b) before I bought the Obsidian which is bigger than what I had before.
Since I’ll theoretically be carrying my stick around more on this trip (bare minimum need to carry it over to Mandalay Bay to get bodied in pools) I figure I’ll need a better transport solution.
What does everyone use for stick transport? I’m open to any and all ideas.
The best solution I’ve found is just a backpack bigger enough to keep my stick in with something little like keys, charger, wallet, etc. The Qanba Defender is a well known solution at the cost of 60$, but I’ve bought a good one way cheaper. Long story short, the right one is the one where the Obsidian will fit with ease.
There is an even easier solution.
Play on pad.
Watch out for the fish.
Yeah that’s what I’ve been looking at. Amusingly enough the biggest problem is that the Obsidian is a fatboy so finding a bag that fits it that also isn’t too big/bulky/ugly has been tricky. But I think I can install one of those quick release JLF shafts and fit it into a big enough backpack, which nets me a backpack that I can use otherwise.
Two fightsticks too late for that.
Though I was thinking today how much easier it would be to just lug a pad along.
There is no easier solution than giving in to master race stick.
Hitbox is master race, don’t kid yourselves.
Manly men play using sticks.
I like being able to travel to events and fit everything into one bag
If you are trying to convince me that sticks are bad with that video, I will let you know that such strategy is actually working against that objective.
It only makes me more interested in the subject!
I just remembered Fighting Chance, going to see if I can get Karin and Juri’s EX6 colors. Already got Falke and Alex.
GOING TO SPEND ALL OF MY FM
Edit: Ayy got Cammy’s outfit
Edit 2: I have no more fight money
Considering the experience of the last few days, it seems that the biggest challenge for me on my road to platinum will be dealing with an 70% player base that uses PS4 and/or wifi.
It is hard to fight against people when you don’t see their attacks starting frames all too often.
Brazilians need to remember that an Ethernet cable is an actual thing.
Mooooar Cody matches
Momochi
Sasaki
Pretty good stuff. Both Momo and Sasaki are good at whiff punishing with the s.LK and spacing the s.HK well. Sasaki could have used a few more sweeps to check the Laura’s fireballs and could have sweep VTC’d instead of just burning v reversals. Probably about the slowest, grounded Laura match I’ve seen in a while. Didn’t take too many jumps either.
I’ll have to make a round up of some of the tougher matches like vs Fang, Sim and Guile to see what they come up with. I know vs Fang MK Ruffian is good at checking his purple stuff. He can’t throw poison balls too close without taking trade that favors Cody heavy in the damage and can profile over the cloud. Sim is probably the worst to fight of the 3. Once he starts yoga flame/gale stuff you have to just look at him do it it seems.
Took me a while to get there, but I finally reached my LP goal. Now begins the process of getting kicked out of the league constantly as I try to go further and get to GM lol. But I feel like I won’t be as stressed trying to do that.
Show those scummy anime Sim players more honesty. Keep it up.
