Are the s3 characters any different from the rest of the cast? Or is it still only scrambles all day long?
falke’s got a buttonsy midrange zoning style with some zonk input fireballs, including an air one. you might like her
blanka, sak, and cody are pretty standard SFV fare imo, although I don’t think they’re poorly designed by any means

You use Sakura in SF4, right? She’s far from that level, just sayin’.
Sakura is poorly designed because she isn’t doing anything that looks like a custom combo anymore.

Falke is the go to “anti scramble” character of the S3’s so far. I’ve been using her as my secondary in ranked and you pretty much get shades of Rose and Sagat in the character. Her toolset pretty much forces you to play to range as none of her knockdowns give her any real oki outside of EX KK. Her dash is too slow to threaten random dash throw so you’re not getting that unless they fall asleep (but if you have them shook it can work). Only character in the game that has dive and air fireball that can be used while jumping up or backwards so can dictate spacing from the air more traditionally than other characters. Her j.MP is basically an air poke that outranges most of the moves in the game.
Cody is a more balanced neutral based character. Can go in and scramble if he needs to, but because of his slower walk and only one safe flying move that is slow compared to others, he is pretty grounded overall. Basically the closest Momochi has gotten to a character that completely fits him. His fireball/tornado sweep has a couple less recovery frames than a hadoken. Doesn’t travel very far so you can’t chuck it like one, but its good for taking up space and forcing people to jump bad or setting up offense. It travels on the screen very slowly so it forces the opponent to have to think about it for a long time like a boom.
Sakura and Blanka can be played honestly, but ideally they are more scrambly because of their movement and flying things that have safe/plus frames.
Nah beyond that her block pressure is bad, her oki is bad, her VTs are bad, her combo opportunities are inconsistent to say the least, LK Tatsu only being +1 oH is bad

Fang seems like he should be a great character one paper to me… I guess maybe if throws didn’t stop the poison or if the poison just ticked for like 1 point more of damage

How is the fang guile match up?
The Guile match up is awkward as all fuck, actually. The fireball war is kind of NRSy because FANG’s projectiles fly over booms so you aren’t really trading projectiles a la SF. So whoever gets the upper hand long distance forces the other to move in and then it kinda turns into a weird toilet of a match.
An interesting matchup.
Lots of pew pew on screen. Seems both of their fireballs can easily threaten the other. Poison balls can go over boom but boom shoots under the arc of the balls. Guile obviously does a little better job dealing with Fangs pressure than Fang does Guile
Interesting, oddly enough I dont really think I’ve ever seen this match lol.
The more I think about it Fangs VT 1 should increase his poison damage…man I’d be all about that.

the VT1 buff for him is hella good actually. Turning his v-skill into an actual projectile is buff as shit.
