SFV Lounge: It was coming and it CAME HOME. Ono is your Evo 2018 Chamion

I would pity him, for the struggle is real, but the poor opponent is playing Boxer there.
Boxer is very fine for Gief.

Yeah you definitely want to post up a video with a good matchup for Gief. If it was Guile or Sim vs Gief I probably wouldn’t have put it up

But Necalli has a command grab

Guile is bad, for sure, but it is the 7-3 I get less bothered about when playing Gief.
Unlike Menat. That Menat bitch makes my blood boil.

Necalli is already incredibly versatile and his gameplan for dummies still works 'cuz people can’t believe on that craziness. I’ve never seen Daigo suffering a matchup like that and I’ve never expected to see Sako and Infiltration get clipped like at last CEO. Necalli still don’t have footsies, but he’s amazing at disrupt the others approach and once he pin you down it’s guessing time. With a patient game he’s still manageable, but I’m scared to see him more again when the current top 5 will be taken down. Until now only his super boring gameplay saved us.

Man I miss shit like this from Itazan

Abi is cool, but miss the good old sucking people into spds and body pressing people.

Yes, that. :frowning:
His Abigail isn’t a quarter as fun to watch as his Gief. It makes me so sad that he had to change to Abi to have a chance to make money after S3 destroyed Gief.
His Gief was fun and inspiring.

Yup. It was real fun seeing Gief go through the struggle to get through on Guile or Sim, but when he got in he made them pay. Abi it’s like yeah he’s not great vs zoners, but he always just has one flip in and it gets started and he doesn’t really grab as much as Gief does. Gief grabbing and putting hands all over them is the best way to make them pay for playing the dont touch me game all day.

@Akhos you got a new character/video ready yet?

Also, zoners are evil, bad and mean. Need all the nerfs.

What do you guys think about Capcom tinkering with hitbox/hurtbox ratios as a way of balancing?
Menat got me thinking about this, because she doesn’t have hurtboxes, unlike Falke who kinda plays the same game.

I’ve been trying to figure out the Cody - Cammy mu with footsies, since most Cammys figured out you can’t just Cannon Spike your way to victory, but whiff/wish punishing is brutal, even though Cody has good buttons.
Most of the time it boils down to Cammys being too confident and actually walking into my buttons, rather than me whiff unishing anything, Cammy just out-prioritises Cody in a lot of situations.

So instead of just smacking down the nerf hammer, how about Capcom put some time into a sort of overhaul on the neutral situation by way of hitbox/hurtbox ratio, (lord knows the priority system isn’t going to get touched) rather than framedata? It’d be nuanced enough for casuals to not notice and give top players a few new options.

I know Capcom tinkers with hitboxes every patch, but I’m suggesting it should be a priority, rather than something obscure or an afterthought, since they never seem to elaborate on it or what it could entail.

Not yet, I missed last week 'cause my sleep schedule was all kinds of screwed up

Working on my Sakura dance now though

At least, as best I think I can given SFV’s online environment

He’s a platinum player so I call scrubbing out on the throw techs and just grabbing for dear life. Sakura has like top 4 forward walk and the best back walk in the game so it’s easy to panic and mash grab because even offline she can grab you by the time you see her walking.

…but you love Rose and were going to play Falke…

I guess, but the possibility is still there.

I wish my local wasn’t dead.

Eh, it is a problem that happened to me a few times when it’s bad. The opponent could sometimes just teleport pointblank to me and I just assumed that instant teleport = animation change = throw occurred.

The one thing that’s bad after coming back to play again is how you can’t communicate about this against random people you come across. EDIT: Forget, PSN users technically can message each other. PC has the bad stick on that end, you have to “add” each other via Steam, which is a chore since you have to manually check for the Steam ID number on their profile, which isn’t too friendly with the “add” function given on Steam. You would have to get the browser open for all that, and by that time, the opponent would probably assume you are leaving and just leave ahead of time.

Lately I’ve just been checking for 5 bar connects and/or play with people in lounges that I know I’m pretty stable with and dont have any regular shenanigans to complain about. PC vs PC also seems to help. I remember I would play Pookie pretty regularly PS4 vs PC and we had no problems until one time before the last time we played where we had random one sided issues. Then we decided to do PC vs PC and it was as smooth as it usually was.

Oh and I actually go through the effort of adding people on Steam if the drop on me. Like I had a Falke player drop on me after I won the first match in the mirror. I went after his ass and was like “hey is there a problem, seems like you dropped?” Apparently he really HATES playing the Falke mirror so he quit because he forgot to deny the rematch. I told him he should tough it up and play out the mirror. He still wouldn’t play the mirror when I beat him a few times then one time finally got the courage to do it and beat me 2 0 and I congratulated him for it.

Probably the most interesting drop message scenario I’ve ever had.

Two things will come of your discovery: 1) great joy and laughter for finding arguably the most incredibly broken SF game or 2) absolute disdain for trying to play (not really) Street Fighter: Scum of the Earth Edition. There are no other outcomes possible.

I can’t find any PC matches with the PC vs PC sorted setting on my end.

Yeah there were definitely a few people I met that did not like mirror matches, but to drop out of one is new to me.

Because both are grown ladies with big… buttons!
They are still evil, bad and mean when I am playing against them with Gief.
