SFV Lounge: It was coming and it CAME HOME. Ono is your Evo 2018 Chamion

Blanka is pretty bad, but not so much that he is completely unviable. Nishikin is doing great things with him online. It’s just that he’s not very fun to play. The issues I have with the game go far beyond that, but no need to get into that again. I already gave the game away before this new lag revelation.

I hear ya, I’m in the same (mud) boat. For those of us stuck on PS4 all we can do is know that the problem exists and try to play through it; anyone who can/could jump to PC probably did already and if they didn’t this is pretty good ammo to do so.

The really fucked up part of it all is that all the events are still run on PS4, and that ain’t changing anytime soon for the big events, so everyone has to get back into the mud regardless of what you practice on.

I hope that this is similar to the Tekken 7 situation where the disconnect between PS4 and PC playability, coupled with the PS4 being pushed as the competitive standard platform, motivates the company to fix the PS4 version so that they have performance parity. However, a) this is Capcom so my hope is tempered, and b) even if they are going to fix this issue I’m not sure its something they get in place quickly due to point ‘a’.

I’m gonna keep plugging away at SF5 on the PS4. Upside being that I’m already used to the mud pool. But reading about shit like this sure does make it easier to put more time into UNIEL and Cross Tag.

PC lets me use the Felicia mod so I’m already on the best version

Capcom shot itself in the foot twice when it comes to sales, first by releasing it only on PS4 and PC (but I guess that was inevitable since they needed Sony money) and then by releasing an incomplete beta at full price that took two years to finish.
SFV’s playerbase looks solid however, at least.

I don’t know about the money thing though, NRS also has pretty big prizes for their tours and they lag behind many other major fighting games out, not just SFV.

I’ll have to watch more replays to give you some tips so I’ll let you know.

Falke escapes bottom 5 wooooo. Most of the bottom 5 I agree with though last one is arguable.

I agree, since PS4 is the standard at tournaments there’s no reason to me to play on PC. Playing smoothly at home to just get dismantled at events because of different setup lag isn’t funny. Amrite, Froztey?

I’m done supporting developers that both don’t care and don’t have the programming competence to deliver a quality product.

The nostalgia factor and larger player base aren’t enough.

Capcom will never learn if you keep playing their games.

I’ve switched to Xrd.

Anybody going to San Diego Comic-Con to meet Ono?

If you do , tell him Juri still needs a beach outfit.

Yes, i am serious.

i wish i could do that. Xrd is high quality and the input response is great but i just can’t get into it. i’ve stopped playing SFV for a couple months but there isn’t another game out there to replace it for me at the moment AND that has a big enough player base.

right now i’m just playing 30th Anni occasionally. maybe i’ll try the new BlazBlue but i don’t really like anime fighters that much but who knows.

I legit want to play this just to see how bad it is.

PS : at minute 6 , Cammy has a whip. Hint for Season 4 buffs i guess.

Jesus, you make it sound like PC players need to scour for new tech every month and keep up with every new release or their games will stop working… ‘‘If you are hardcore’’, LMAO.

Here is how I got my PC about a year and a half ago. I spent 30 minutes online looking for parts at a website, together with my more tech sawy friend. After I got everything I ordered it online and the site offered to build it for me aswell. The PC came delivered to my home, ready to plug in and use. I haven’t spent any time looking up new tech since, and every needed upgrade is automatic.

I feel you on that one. I’m not jumping into GG or whatever, but i can’t come back to this game knowing full well that they don’t actually care to make obvious changes that would keep their core players happy.

Variable input lag. Poor balance that just has to stay around for a year. Crappy online. The game is stale as hell for me now.

Its 2018. Not putting up with that. I’ll just play stuff i find fun.

If anyone cares. If you have Prime, Amazon has the Qanba Obsidian on sale for $140 for the next 5 hours.

Watched a few of your replays. Not too bad, but I would say the quickest thing I noticed is that you need to use your light normals more often. You let people just walk up to you too often when you have a bunch of plus on block lights to keep people out before they get too close. Use more s.LK to keep people at a distance and confirm on counter hit into standing shot. You can also use it as a way to catch forward dashes and and punish with s.LK into shot or s.LK into PP

Oh and try not to burn too much of your v trigger if you land a hit into trigger shot. Burning too much of the trigger without getting the opponent near death blows out time you could use to gain another plus on block staff button or set up close frame traps into damage that could kill.

Oh and use more j.MP also. It’s really good.
