SFV Lounge: It was coming and it CAME HOME. Ono is your Evo 2018 Chamion

I identify as a tool mm k?

I mean tbh a lot of the health values are kinda dumb, Chun being at 950 instead of 1000 still makes no sense to me

That already is what happens. The game matches you based on ping and latency.

The issue is that what is considered 5 bars by the game is really high ping it seems.

I had a US flag for 2 years and ever since AE,.i changed it to the Egyptian flag and i get paired up with the same people i used to get paired up with regardless.

What probably happens is that the game think that maybe around 100ms ping is still 5 bars and it matches people based on that, so you get people from really far away.

That is it.

During SF4, your region was the country you chose for your PSN/XBL account. So for example, i could still create a PSN account and set Italy as my country, and your filter will clear me and since the game is of high tolerance for latency, it will still see it as 5 bars.

The only real solution is to just make a fucking good netcode instead of hiding the issues of a bad one. The same freaking people that i play in SFV and get little rollbacks are FLAWLESS in Marvel infinte. I have friend that get a decent amount of roll backs with in SF5 and when we played in Injustice 2, it was perfect.

Region filter and that nonsense is just the lazy fix. They should fix the actual code.

One day Capcom and game developers will realize we’re not kids and even kids know that it’s better to see exact numbers instead of neon green bars

Shit, at this point I wouldn’t mind seeing my ping right next to my healthbar

Yeah, this is what we said years ago. And I said in this thread years ago. SG had this problem and mike z tried all kinds of ways to fix the lag issue with no avail… after awhile he was frustrated and kind of gave up… but then he had an idea so he talked to me and everyone else and said he had “an obvious idea about why the game might be lagging” and asked us to test it for him. So I was one of the guys that tested in AU but others tested In EU and USA as well. Basically the problem was immediately resolved for around 90% of us. So what was the issue? I don’t know the technical details, but what mike said was that the slower computer was forcing the faster computer to also run slow and that was what was causing the lag. Once he took that out and allowed both systems to do their own thing… the major lag basically stopped and now there was only the network lag to deal with.

We said this is probably what is happening with sf5 as well… and it’s also a PS4 to pc and pc to pc issue because not all older PS4 run as fast as the new ones and shit PCs run slower than newer more powerful ones as well… so pc to pc or PlayStation to PlayStation isn’t going to fix the issue. The issue is differing clock speeds and processor power.

I had this exact situation happen with an Australian friend. My rig was semi high end, probably enough to get the bad effect on this problem, but I used to play against a guy that had a VERY high end rig and he always complained about the lag between us whereas for me it felt pretty great (when playing sf5)

Capcom still hasn’t learned. And they probably won’t.

This is capcom after all.

Wow, all of this, Fujimura fighting 5 Cammys, the input lag is worse than we thought, it makes you tired. I think I am going to play other games more.
SFV was made in a bad moment, when that other CEO was still around and didn’t care about quality control. And they had to make this game with such a new engine, Unreal 4, which had problems of its own. Not to mention Capcom developers seem incompetent. Give this to Naughty Dog and watch them polish a turd.

Capcom once worked on so many external IP’s, Disney, Marvel, Shonen Jump, but now they have lost it all.

No doubt the Bandai Namco and Arc Sys are the ones carrying the flag this generation.

It’s better. Mainly because it’s completely the same and locks up on mobile sometimes which is awesome. At least I get OG spoilers and notifications actually work decently here. Cammy will get air fireball that shoots straight forward like Shadow Jago’s in KI.

It amazes me that so many people criticize SFV for its lack of depth but in the same vein are upset about variable input lag. Capcom has added another layer to the meta by allowing players the opportunity to take time into account when performing certain combos.

lol what LOL that really gave me a chuckle irl

it…it somehow makes perfect sense

I watched some of your Falke replays. Saw you outzoning the Gweels. I had another Falke in the mirror ask if I mained Falke so I’m getting stronker.

Oldie, but a good reminder of the problems online:

Agreed. Gief only having 1050 is silly was well.

This game is unbalanced, Cody is lidderly the TOP tier of Fun characters, next for me would be either Zeku or Ibuki, Juri used to be fun in SF4.

Am I wrong?

And in spite of Capcom being crap and everything else, SFV would still be the main fighting game if it wasn’t for DBFZ. And it’s not like DBFZ is leading convincingly either: it gets more entrants at the top tier tournaments, it has basically the same viewership, but seems to get less entrants in most other smaller tournaments, so there’s basically a duality in the FGC right now (with Tekken 7 being a strong third place).

I actually thought the same thing about the period of time when SFV was made: I think Capcom in general was struggling back then, and it clearly negatively affected the way the game was released.

Any tips on my crappy gameplay?

not sales or overall player whise.
push the same amount of money into the other circuits while taking it away from the cpt and see how the tournament numbers will shift.

Doubtful, as they’ve never worked on a fighting game or with UE4. They can do miracles with their own engine, on one platform, in one genre. That doesn’t mean they can do the same with a fighting game that uses a third-party engine and also needs to be optimized for PC.

I just hope that Capcom has one or two more Monster Hunter successes in the near future so that they find their footing again. Mega-Man 11 could be big.

Unfortunately, if SFV were even a decent SF game, there would be absolutely no question which fighting game would be at the top of the pecking order. Alas, even the SF name can’t save this abomination.

SFVI will probably only feature stick figures duking it out with one-button specials and it will have cyclical 8, 10 and 12 frames of input lag. And DevilJin will tell us how awesome the game is.

As a PS4 player I can keep playing vs PC and PS4 owners? I feel like a pig swimming in a mud pool at this point.

Don’t blame him, he’s happy with it. You would also if Blanka had been decent, who knows.
