Yeah you have to build charges. He’s booty in pres level 1. Like not Dan levels of bad, but it’s not good minus throwing out good normals. It’s only 2 and above where he starts to get more oppressive conversion/damage wise and safer. Though I understand what Saitsu is saying in that there’s a lot of ways to get knocked down in this game and you’re going down a level once it happens. Level 3 is good if you can get there just because it’s basically meteless EX moves. Meaning if you get there you can pretty much just save meter for super.
Which if his V Skill is viable enough to build v gauge for in most matchups (which it should) would buy into using VT1 which allows makes all of your moves pres level 3/EX and burn 10 or 15 percent of the timer instead.
You have to level with him. It’s not really a choice. His damage pre level 2 is booty and he has no pressure. Once he gets level 3 his damage is great.
You have to manage the way to easily lost presidential levels. Hard to say what he is right now. Whereas Cody felt like an easy mid tier, G feels like bottom or so in presidential 1, and top or so in presidential 3.
What will make or break him will be the players ability to stay presidential and if something super strong/ foolish is found in his VT1.
The fight however is less against your opponent and more against G himself to stay presidential. I do wish that his V skill got better with more presidential levels. I get hit out of the startup all the time cause of sf5 lag when trying to absorb fireballs.
Got Saglock on my sekrit account, Color 6 is my mainfu but I want to swag him up and practice those kara cancel mid screen combos…but have to do all of that later >_>
There’s something really positive about G and Sagat released together now, with that we don’t have to expect nothing relevant from Capcom 'til December and whatever comes in between will be a surplus.
Capcom got scared that the other developers had a trick up their sleeve to steal the show, so they released both. Good thing nobody really topped Capcom so win win :^)
Top of the morning everyone. In reference to Sagats kara cancels I can use f.mk just fine yet I’ve haven’t been able to cancel f.hk any tricks available? And is there a really reason so labbing one over the other? Many thanks.
As I said, there are conversions that are only possible with f.hk kara cancel (namely f.hk into hp uppercut after ex high shot). There’s no real trick other than doing it very quickly.
G is good, I think the key will be charging his Presidentiality much as a possible. Sagat looks good either, but doesn’t seems oppressive like he was previously. Even here doing Kara’s is important imo, I’m surprised Capcom included this feature for him. Can’t wait to see what people can do with them.
