If Viper is in this game, I urge some of you to not get your hopes up in terms of play quality of said character, cause you know damn well she ain’t gonna be the same Viper, I also fear for Yun. These nigga’s gonna put a dive kick meter knowing them, 4 dive kicks, and that’s it, you’re done. This game isn’t " Viper’s kind of game " quite the opposite actually.
I’m ready for honest Viper. Regular Viper wasn’t respected by anyone but Viper players.

I got the EX color for Rashid at the first attempt too. I’m not a lucky guy so I can give up already on getting that color for Zeku. Ain’t gonna trash FM like that for just a color, especially since idgaf about boosts for the Survival mode or useless artworks. I’m sitting on 550k FM, but I keep them for stages if they’re cool or OG. That’s it.
Viper is not gonna be honest,they will change her for sure but she will be dirty 24/7. Ibuki changed also but she kept the dirt.

I love how the fgc it’s spreading the Cody madness. This could lead to more madness for everyone or just nerfs for Cody. We all know Capcom can’t consider the first thing.

From what I can tell, Cody just seems to be a worse SFV Sakura with a better V-Skill.

Hmmm, it’s possible.
Just think about what Cody brings to the table. Solid whiff punish game with s.LKxxMK Ruffian. That’s nice, but Sakura does it better with her s.LKxxMP Sho due to speed and being able to actually block punish better. Cody has a decent FB game, mostly used for Oki. Sakura has a better FB game for both neutral and Oki. Sakura has better walkspeed, Sakura has better pokes. They both have safe specials for blockstrings. Their V-Triggers are about par with one another. Sakura commands better damage generally (though Cody has better 1 Bar damage midscreen).
Generally everything Cody can do, Sakura can do either just as well or better. All Cody really has on her is his V-Skill.

I never said he was trash. Right now his issue is he’s redundant and not in a good way.
When I say trash I mean he’s not OMG ZMOG HE DA BEST.
DLC will not come out OP. Sustey thinks he’s viable and I’ll take his word for it. I’m tired of everyone being mad because characters aren’t getting hand guns from the jump.

He’s viable in a sense that most characters are viable if you put in the time with them. That’s a really lazy way of looking at things though.
Codys gonna get the Abigail treatment next season aka buffed to the moon!

I would say Cody is more comparable to Urien or Nash. As far as gameplan, but still has his own things away from them.
His s.LK is plus 3 on block and huge range so it has a completely different use in neutral and close range compared to Sakura’s s.LK. Once people learn s.LK EX zonk confirms his game is going to open up a lot. It allows him to throw plus shit at you and start a party from a ridic range. His fireball other than not going full screen seems easily one of the better fireballs in the game for actually controlling space and zoning. Sakura doesn’t really have a fireball game unless she charges her fireball to level 2, throws an EX fireball or activates VT1. Her regular fireballs are probably near the worst in the game. Terrible recovery and fire way too slowly to scare anyone. The reason I prefer to use VT1 with Sak is basically because I like giving her a better fireball game because her regular no charge fireball is that ass.
Better walk speed, certainly. Otherwise Cody clearly has better buttons. His s.LK and c.HP alone is better than every poke she has, but balanced by her having better walk. His s.HK is better than her’s also (but hers is solid too). Cody’s VT2 is probably better than either of Sak’s triggers, but Sak’s VT2 is good enough.
He also has the best sweep in the game while Sakura doesn’t really have a real sweep.
