Speaking of earlier builds of this game, ya remember when
Ryu had guardbreak setups? Or St.mp into sweep? Or when Nash moonsault was an over head, faster V-trigger dash/teleport or ken having a faster run with less recovery and cross up tatsu?, Gief being able to combo into all his spd’s(I think) Chun li having an air spinning birdkick(?) And an OTG? Or birdie having Way higher damage or being able to bullhorn someone and when they’re falling down be juggled into super since older birdie bullhorn knocked people higher. They had some brave ideas back then
Edit: I’d format this better but I’m on a phone and that’s mad work
Man look at all those options, beta 1 Ryu was a lot of fun. Coming from SF4, this Ryu seemed normal. Now he’d probably be broken if he were dropped in S3.
I don’t understand this need to cripple Ryu so much. Even though S1 Ryu was considered top tier, he still has the same issues that the current Ryu has. He can’t easily loop his pressure like most characters nor is his zoning good enough to zone people to death like Menat/Guile. For whatever reason it’s like they want to keep him down in the dumps.
You’re right. I should be playing Cammy if I were a player worth a damn.
But I figure if I’m gonna be shit regardless, there’s really no point in picking a top tier if I can’t use her to her true effectiveness. And after playing with her for plenty a while, I know that even with her simplicity, I simply can’t use her or any top tier in the game to their full potential. So why bother?
That stuff is nice but I want something reliable instead of situational. Having super is a rarity since Ryu relies on EX donkey for damage and EX fireball for oki against crouching opponents. V-reversal is more likely to happen but you might get thrown or you VR a jab and get nothing out of it.
I just want something that would always work without me having to think. Cammy, Ibuki, or even Ken doesn’t have to think about how to finish a combo, I wouldn’t want to either if I were still a Ryu player lol.
How the hell can anyone do Ryu’s super after the l.k? And even more astounding, how the hell can anyone do it against an actual opponent and not in training mode? It’s definitely not a hit confirm because that’s impossible unless you’re a robot.
