SFV Lounge: It was coming and it CAME HOME. Ono is your Evo 2018 Chamion

Everybody gets hit by it. That situation is about psychology and conditioning.

Sure. The blocking part is fucked up with my delayed tech habbit. Akumas almost taught me not to do it, but only Akumas. Also I started to wake up 3f lately and it feels to bring some benefits. But theese are probably only feels, as i do not know the situations i’m allowed to do it. And AA’ing is in my case a matter of mental fatigue (i.e. playing after work), as i often give up and block the moment they jump. When the mindset is right i love to c.HPxxVskill them, as lots of players are not ready for it. Smart ones do dash under though. If i stop droping like 20% of my combos i’ll be ultra gold tomorrow and platinum in no time.

Edit: My english gramar is also trash

3 RQs today. What year is it?

Ironic I get all these RQs on a relatively shitty day for me in the game where I’m losing a ton.

I think the bullhorns in general have a lot of block stun. It’s easy to miss the punish if you do go for the punish too early. Falke’s KK works like that also where the block stun lasts for a year before you can actually punish the minus 10.

Welcome to the forums. Beek only posts once in a blue moon now so it’s good to have a resident schoolgirl player holding it down for fundamentals.

Minus 2 works better based on if you’re about to get the opponent stunned or how much health you have. If you have a lot of health (and they have real low health) or they’re about to get stunned, it’s not a bad decision to go for the EX DP as people usually panic and press something in those situations. If you feel they may be smart and wait out the EX DP then press a button and take your turn.

Overall though Sakura can’t really enforce the minus 2 situations enough to heavily rely on it. Plus if you’re using VT2 you lose the minus 2 trap once you activate trigger. Sakura prefers to have lots of meter for damage dump into super with VT2 and get EX fireball pressure in corner.

In the long run you’ll want to focus on landing c.MK on hit to LK tatsu and s.HP or b+HP on hit to HK tatsu. Those give you more guaranteed scenarios to continue your pressure.

Necalli still secret best character. Then, now, forever.

Yeah, that’s the stuff. I love catching those backwalkers in c.MKxxTatsu loops. And HK.Tatsu into shimmy s.HP loop gives me the fastest wins ever. S.LKxxTatsu on block is not true but i love it. People still do not challenge it and ones that do fuck it up too often. Only if i droped the cancel less than 50%.
Also i got a question. Is routing s.MP to cr.MP on block and to b.HP on hit realistic? I’m still predicting it and it’s bad.

You mean like doing s.MP, c.MP as block string and then throwing out b+HP after to catch a counter hit?

Lk tatsu and HK tatsus are -2.

The hell are you talking about her not being able to force the situation. She can force it from downtown if she wanted to.

I’m going back to Ken

At least that way when I play terribly people will expect it

And keep Menat around for the Guiles and the two Gief players

No. s.MP to b.HP on block gets interrupted by 3framers, so i want to switch to c.MPxxTatsu when i see s.MP blocked and continue with the b.HP combo if it hit.

I’ve noticed people are prone to RQ’ing or bailing on sets regardless of any kind of logic or precedence (then again I wouldn’t expect people who bail like that to be driven by reason).

I’ve had so many people bail after I bring it to 1-1. I mean I get it: it’s Laura, and they don’t want to lose the set. But you already won the first game. Maybe you can win the second! Just give it a try buddy.

Last one was an Ibuki that bailed after I pulled out the most dastardly tech of jump back LP to counter his near constant crossover jumps. If he wasn’t crossing up, he was crossing right the fuck out of there.

when are capcom releasing the new shill-lock outfits

Ah ok yeah that should work well enough.

Sure I know. I used to play her. It’s just her minus 2 stuff is nowhere near as abuseable as Rashid or Urien who can play much more of their gameplan around it.

The oki you get for landing an EX DP off minus 2 tatsu is not that good. Corner carry is ok, but not worth the lack of damage you get. It’s not something that’s going to turn every round of every match for you at all. Your best situation is hoping they sit still so you can throw them or get them to tech a throw, but defensively they can backdash to escape everything other than meaty c.LP. In the long run if they know their options its not worth basing a big gameplan around.

That’s a match of Kusanagi’s Sakura vs Neon. Kusanagi is the second highest ranked Sakura online and I used to regularly fight against him in ranked. He doesn’t rely much on the minus 2 shenanigans and never used them in this set. Especially vs Kolin who has counter baits and can reaction counter far HK tatsu attempts.

He would only use minus 2 tatsu to EX DP on me if he knew it was a situation that made sense like my stun was up really high. Otherwise its better to just land hit confirms with her. Plus like shown in the video, he isn’t going to go for it once he gets trigger any ways since he loses access to the safe minus tatsus.

You can find some vids of like BreastPantyHip throwing around minus tatsu setups a lot, but you can’t go into CPT majors basing your game around that shit and expect to move up brackets.

You know what puts me on tilt really quick? Knowing that Ed’s Optimal Corner Combo randomly whiffs the Psycho Spark on Cody. I can’t consistently recreate it, it just happens.

Is that the one with the long sequence into psycho spark, c.MK, psycho upper?

That would be the one. I lost a set to a Cody because it whiffed twice in a row after a Stun. I thought the Stun reel was the key but nope, just fucking random in general. I’m trying to see if there’s just a frame or two where it forces the issue.

Could be a specific hit box issue with him. @Frost maybe has encountered it before or could recreate

I think it’s something that’s happening where the hurtbox is pushing me out just enough to make my conversion whiff. There’s a very specific distance where the s.MP, c.HP link will connect but the Spark whiffs. Usually it’s pretty easy to avoid but it happened to me about 5-6 times today.

At least I finally caught fire and hit my goal. Now to solve my Ryu and FANG issues tomorrow. Idk why I keep getting bodied by them.

counterhit meaty cr.mp, walk forward st.mp, walk forward st.mp target combo.

yay Zeku has one hard combo.
