SFV Lounge: Cammy at the Falken bottom, Makoto is in final phases, Leo Alex is broken

Real people are happening. Not sure how long.

If you want a better fight, go to training mode, and set the CPU to “Dummy”.

That setting is modeled after my playstyle.

I don’t want to waste my energy on waiting for something that probably isn’t there. I don’t love waiting, this kind of approach makes me annoyed more than curious about what’s coming. Probably we gonna have 2/3 years of SFV left, so who cares about what’s coming at this point.

You’re too hard on yourself

I hope Rose cucks Makotos chances of getting in<3

I hope neither get in and I get Hugo.

You may have misheard me.

I didn’t say “we” get Hugo.

I said “I” get Hugo.

Yeah just relax on the beach with the pina colada in your hand and see what happens. Maybe you get Makoto.

Ultimate is legit the only game that may break sfv’s record entrant Evo numbers.

I haven’t even looked and I don’t need to, but I know there is s ridiculous amount of furry porn of this Pokemon.

I don’t think it’ll come close at all. I would feel differently if the Genesis number was much higher. It did 2100+ there which is very impressive but that’s only a little higher than the previous record at Smash only events. Where are the other 3k going to come from?

It’s not going to come from the FGC and that’s how SFV got its record number in the first place. The game had so many people who signed up for it but didn’t stick with it just because it was the newest SF game. Smash doesn’t have the luxury of getting the same support from the rest of the FGC.

I think Smash could do a little over 3k, but that’s about it.

Yea but since melee isn’t there then wouldn’t every other smash franchise player register? It’s basically gonna get every other smash player entering. I think ultimate definitely has that chance.

You have to remember that it’s been said that there’s a big divide between Smash people who enter Melee and Smash people who enter 4/Ultimate

There will be some carryover into Ultimate but mainly people who like or “accept” the game even if they don’t like it as much as Melee. There are a sizeable amount of Melee only players who will boycott/not attend Evo because of no Melee. Which will hurt chances at record breaking.

Flash Metroid is playing Smash Ultimate. Think there might be a surprising amount of FGC people joining that clusterquack just because.

Who knows now a days.

Might just be a one year thing for some of the FGC people. If they dont place high enough they get salty and leave it be.

Gameplay related question guys… 3 parter:

Who as a player (besides punk) has really good stagger pressure?
Which characters besides the fast walkspeed ones have the best stagger pressure?
Are there any tutorials on stagger pressure?

I felt like I know everything there is to know about it yet my offense and staggers in general still sucks so I’m missing something somewhere.

As an example… with Urien my stagger pressure is usually 4 way:

  1. Medium>medium (this sets up for 2)
  2. Medium>walk forward stagger>medium>medium (which sets up for 3)
  3. Medium>walk forward throw (which sets up for 4)
  4. Medium>walk forward walk back shimmy

Now of course there levels to this. The shimmy is done the least for me. The medium medium is done the most and medium throw and medium walk forward medium about the same rate.

But I still only have a conversion rate of around 25-30% when upclose.

To have good stagger pressure without a solid walkspeed you need a lot of beefy advantage normals, with minimal pushback.

Cody’s are alright…uh…beyond that, there aren’t many. Can’t think of anyone beside Cody. Because stagger is usually effective due to the impending threat of a walk forward throw on top of the stagger, and most slow walkers just can’t walk in and throw, defensive backwalk makes it whiff.
