Well,she is designed to be bursty for short moments ,but her stores don’t pack enough punch.

So either make her stores hurt more or allow her to store more often while maintaining pressure so she can use them more often.

Yeah, that’s the only change she needs. Give her a combo route to stock a store and get oki, or make a full store combo hit you for about 350.

Instantly going to be actively trying to those stores, and the momentum you give up for them is suddenly worth it if a hit lands. It’s just a data problem.

I fully agree Abigail was overturned and has some things I wouldn’t agree with. But he has answers and presence in more parts of the game.

Gief really on plays his one note.

Also, Hugo’s hit and hurtboxes are massively fucked up… just not usually in a way that helps him.

Also note: I am not talking about what he looks like visually.

Nah he wasn’t overtuned he just doesn’t play by the fucking rules his archetype is supposed to adhere too. Hugo paid with his LIFE for fucking up in IV, he had multiple character specifics because he was big, ACTUALLY big.

Abigail has little to no character specific routes on punishes, his hurtbox is thin as fuck, he has a normal reeling hurtbox, and his hurtbox retraction is a joke. Dude even gets a good 4f to pressure with?

If Abigail is better designed than Gief you’re outta your fucking mind, Abi is a travesty. Instead of actually fixing the character they just decided to slap nerfs on literally everything - damage, grab mixup, combo potential, oki, v-trigger.

I mean I think that says it all on how fucking broken his design was.

but why does she have these new stores to begin with? they’re so incredibly bland. in what way are they more interesting than her old mid/up fireball? neither of them really do anything special; they’re just combo extenders, that’s it. not very cool ones either.

then we have the really obnoxious reimagining of her FSE. all the anime life of that super got sucked out. a thousand percent more boring than it was in the past.

i hate juri’s rework. maybe more than i hate vega’s. the only new idea they brought to the character that didn’t make her worse was giving stored moves a motion instead of making you negative edge it

Unrelated. I like when the DON’T give grapplers command grab supers. By removing their ability to ranomdly rob you they can give them more consistent tools all around.

Those are pretty good for sure.
But I do like the kind of growth Sakura showed at his story in SFV. It was a very nice touch and felt quite real for an young adult woman.
Had SFV mixed that with this UDON storyline, it would be so good.

Where am I saying that? I’m saying Capcom has refused to actually make Abigail play like a giant and so just ruined everything he had instead of adjusting hurtboxes to make him liable to huge damage and whiff punishes on his limbs.

His design is trash, it’s like if Capcom made a zoner whose fireballs can also anti-air, hit mid and are plus on block. Just make the archetype meaningless, good design.

LOL just yesterday I almost won the set vs number 1 Akuma in US again (KillaKam) and only lost because weird ass combo drop on my trigger that doesn’t usually happen. I beat him clean 2 0 the first time. At Ultra Diamond I believe I only get 135 a game even vs him.

Pays better off to 2 0 some regular GMs. I 2 0d some GM Birdie who messes with like 3 other characters and 2 0d another 40-50k Bipson 2 0 (which is like nearly impossible for Falke) and got the same per win.

Oh and fighting Diamonds is the worst. You have to win 30 Diamond matches in a row at Ultra Diamond to earn a 1,000 LP and if you lose you lose 1 match you lose 100LP (which means every Diamond loss adds 3 extra wins you must make if you dont find anyone higher ranked). Diamonds become huge grenades when you’re in Ultra Diamond and above and they’re the ones you have to play the most clean against since they’ll throw the whole kitchen sink at you and DP on every other wake up to get a game off of you.

No he’s saying Abi can’t have tools without having their associated weaknesses properly implemented.

You want to be enourmous, do insane damage, and have large hitboxes? Fine. But you sure as hell should be ready to eat those character specific punishes and have hurtboxes just as large as your hitboxes.

Abi main thing is being huge, but gameplay wise he cherry picks when he is big which is fucking dumb.

How? Hurtboxes and frame data are the definition of tuning problems.

In SF4 Juri was used by many like a sort of female version of Guile, definitely something unexpected by Capcom who didn’t want that. They can revert her storing/ fireballs mechanic to her SF4 version, but y’all would be ready to giving up her actual super low fireball? And which move y’all ready to give up for her dive special back?
