SFV Lounge: Cammy at the Falken bottom, Makoto is in final phases, Leo Alex is broken

Low tier characters are only played by specialists, so the guy on the other end playing FANG is actually pretty good. That and unfamiliarity means gimmicks can become real.

Like since they nerfed Guile I’m actually having more trouble beating him since all the fair weather Guiles jumped ship, leaving only the real Guile mains.

Always. I’m obviously new at this game, and that’s always been true. And can definitely relate from other games.

Especially if they have slightly unusual game plans, or gimmicky stuff.

@Vhozite started using Ibuki recently, and I’m still going through the idk what is going on phase.

Also, Kunai are really hard to see on the grid…/salt

The match begins at stage select. Home field advantage baybee

Ibuki 6-4 vs the whole cast on grid!

We are getting smash brothers up in here!

I still have to look for the real Guile mains. As far as my Falke is concerned there’s only 2 and they’re like GM rank. Anything below that is just more randoms that can’t throw booms and jump randomly. Just because I play a zoner doesn’t mean you have to turn into a Rashid player. Shoot with me LOL

… I still have a lot of trouble against guile in general.

The ones that don’t hang themselves anyways…

Random thought about character unfamiliarity.

I feel the gimmicky stuff is more prevalent at the lower ranks. In gold, all Blanka is gimmicky bullshit. At higher ranks, they are more likely to assume you know the matchup and not rely on it.

If they sniff it out through, you are going for a ride.

I just got done with a couple sets vs Mexican GM Cast Blanka. He’s solid in that he actually does use Blanka’s buttons (most Blankas dont). It’s just he plays typically where he plays solidly until you get the life lead then he goes for Blanka stuff and hopes it works. Got me the first set, but got him back the next one.

He’ll go for LP ball until I start checking the start up with PP (I’ll even take a trade) then he’ll go for punishable HP balls and hope I’m not blocking lul

Ye most blanka love to spam fake / light ball into lights or grabs. The day one gimmick. It’s still surprisingly effective…

Yeah luckily I used to play ST Blanka where the balls were faster so people are throwing shit at me that I’ve already been doing myself for like 15 years. LP ball mad slow in this game.

The thing that makes me saltiest.

Neutral jumping a Blanka hop-grab, or birdie dive… then the game lagging and fucking up the punish inputs…

grumble

With Falke as long as I got meter I only have to hit 3 buttons together to punish those moves so CFN usually can’t screw me there.

Oh that reminds me of another gif I need to post.

In the mind of a typical SF player

Blanka’s balls confuse the fuck out of me… I always forget which versions fall back further or close from me when I block

JUST

DO IT

Well he’s a 16er so makes sense.

To be fair.

The wrong decision twice in a row is sometimes the last thing anyone is expecting.

I read his name he already gave himself away. If you a 16er you going to do it again. Yes you will.

Lol. Actually, my biggest “issue” is that he pisses away all his meter.

Even when I’m being an idiot I try not to kneecap my next round.

The most “online” thing I sometimes do is…after I ex dp and I get punished.

I just do it again right after.

TBF I probably should have just neutral jumped the second EX revenger myself to save meter, but hey works out I didn’t get randomly anti aired wondering when he was going to do it again and we both even out meter next round. She can zone Birdie without meter and meter doesn’t really give Falke any pressure. Unless I have VT I have the same exact pressure full CA or empty bar.
