You’re right, crouching light kick doesn’t cancel into rekkas, but it does link into standing close fierce which does cancel into rekkas. That’s the point Fresh OJ was going for. This works on all characters where the close medium punch combo did not.
Crouching Jab also works and I find it easier to time for the link to standing fierce.
Oh i missed that part of his post sorry, also bet you dont have this one fresh oj:arazz:, shenanigan combo #1, When your opponent is in the air, use close standing :hp: or :hk:, continue to walk foward until you cross him up, then use neutral :mk:, (if you did this correctly fei should be facing the wrong direction when he uses the :mk: but it still hits) and can be linked into close standing :hp: into rekkas lets see if you can beat that, or take this glitch a bit further than i did. Practice mode ftw!!!
You can combo cr.lp after CW on crouching opponents (certain ranges on certain characters) and follow up with rekkas or even super. Fierce punch is also combo-able after CW (I’ve only done it on crouching cammys but I’ve seen it against a Fei also).
Cross-up Wing is also combo-able on certain characters as well.
Yep, and even better if it’s a character where you can link close medium punch to close fierce. It works so you can link it after the cross up close medium kick for a 6 hit combo! I think it always dizzies too.
Hmmm…aerial hit-stun crossup shenanigans with neutral jump attacks or backward attacks. Yeah…you’re right, I don’t have any of those in my FAQ! Now, that could be interesting to research, but due to how much time it’s taking me to just get all of the crossup data into my FAQ, it’s pretty unlikely that I’ll put that in there.
The best way to figure out which attacks allow for that, IMHO, would be to look at those Yoga Book Hyper scans with the hitbox pictures in them and see how far behind Fei Long the hitbox reaches.
By the way, I remember seeing cr.:lk: interrupted into the Rekka Shin Ken SC in a combo video. Am I correct in saying that cr.:lk: can only be interrupted into a super? Or can cr.:lk: be interrupted into anything? I’d test it now, but my wife is studying. Thanks.
play tiger shots just like fireballs. only difference is you can jump in at half a screen and stick a limb out and do damage if timed right, since sagat’s hitbox is way out there. sagat can actually react quicker than ken/ryu so anything but a neutral jump is asking for pain.
Ugh use jumping jab for a low tiger shot since A)Sagats hitbox is big which means he will not have enough time to recover before he gets hit and you can use it from a rather long distance B)Fei Long’s jumping jab is his longest reaching and highest priority move. Usually you cant combo this into anything but you are in fei’s favorite place to be, midrange. Also when ever some uses a random super, at the apex of his uppercut(assuming you blocked) use fei’s super and you will get all of the hits due to recovery time. Ill have to play the match more to give better info. When i do ill get back at you Coth X.
I dunno ive been playing fei for so long i cant switch over to zangief that easily, its so odd, but for now im wondering how to beat zangief with fei since the nerf chicken kicks.
EDIT: Since no one else has posted yet i found out that neutral :mk: will link into close standing :hp: whether fei faces backwards or not for the shenanigan combo i came up with, but if fei is not facing in the wrong direction then the :mp: into :hp: link will not work for the bigger characters. Also if fei is not facing in the wrong direction for the :mk: you HAVE to use fierce rekka for the first one.
Yeah i suppose, also i suck with the spd’s anyway, also how the hell did you get so good with t.hawk, i always thought t.hawk was a matchup in fei’s favor but you make this match look horrible for fei… or any other character.
Hours and hours and hours and days and months of practice. I always kept a positive attitude towards his bad match-ups and I can overcome them most of the time. And it is a match-up in Fei’s favor, but It doesn’t bother me. Letting the bad get to you sharply decreases your odds of winning.
C’mon now! If Sagat could have two Tiger Shots on one screen, do you know how broken he would be?
Jumping, whether neutral or forward, is definitely your best option for moving forward against Sagat.
Just make sure you jump as soon as you notice that he threw it. Of course, you’ll have to watch for him mixing up speeds after that, but it’s not impossible.
Backwards cl.:mk: will allow you to link another move, like, say…cl.:mp: or another cl.:mk:. Either move can be used to link to cl.:hp:…also known as the beginning of pain for those that get hit by it while grounded.
So you’re saying if I neutral jump over a low hp tiger shot and then try to jump forward when I land, I won’t get hit by a high fast tiger? I tried that and it didn’t seem to work.
Remember, i noted 3/4 screen distance, although this can be applied to full screen too. Sagat’s fireballs are fast.
No…I’m saying neutral jump the Low Tiger Shot and then walk forward, being prepared for the next attack. It’s the same best practice that Cammy uses against projectile throwers. The idea is simply to close distance, not necessarily punish the Low Tiger Shot.
