im going to take a guess and say that i get to choose who moves on to the higher division between my 2 characters since both of them are set to play each other. ill go ahead and give cammy the higher division position and sagat the lower position. does this also mean i dont get to play anyone this week? just interdivisional matches this week?

Everyone has two fighters, and you told me your two fighters would be RUFUS and SAGAT. Since Rufus was listed first, I took that as he was your main fighter so he starts off with a higher rankings.

Thanx for the quick response, JINSOKU. Unfortunately, you don’t have any ‘real’ fights this week since your fighters are facing each other this week (a mirror match). You’ll have new matches for Week 14. Sorry about that, but just happened to work out that way for you this week. In the end, CAMMY stays in the Bronze division and Sagat stays in the A division.
Thanx for compliment. The League has proven to be more succesful and more popular than I ever imagined. Like the League, the website is still a work in progress as we grow. I appreciate the kind words tho. I do need to update the Rules & regulations page, especially with info on how I decide forfeits, etc. They are becoming all to common.
Well, you can either play the match & try to maximize your connection, or you can forfeit the match if you refuse to play him. That is your choice. I have not heard a complaint from MR FLOWERS regarding the last match even tho he lost both times.
As for the European league, I pesonally don’t have the time to manage a whole new league solely for European players. Besides, there are only 4 or 5 in the League currently as far as I know. If their connections are bad, then I expect they would not be happy with the results & drop out. I hope that isn’t the case tho, as I have played a couple of European players without any problems on my ISP. Secondly, I am only advertising this League on 3 sites (Official PS forums, SRK.com, and SF4forums.com). I don’t have the time nor the desire to advertise on European sites in order to find more members for a European league.
You didn’t hear from him because he said he would let me tell you since I get on SRK more often than he does. He said something about trying it for 3 weeks or so to see if other’s connections are any better, but if he just plays me every week I don’t see how he is going to test that. Anyway, I think I have most of it recorded. Apparently you need proof. I’ll see what I can do about getting it uploaded for you. I would definitely not play it if it were just a regular division battle, (we almost didn’t finish the second match because of all the disconnects, but we finally did it anyway) but since it is inter-divisional it would appear I have no choice. This is similar to your statement “i never want to demote someone without the other person earning it” or something like that you said, but anyways. The lag was only 1 second or so, if it doesn’t disconnect. So after they hit you with something, then you can try to block it mad late. It is funny to play that way sometimes, not fun mind you, but funny trying to play semi-seriously in that environment. Some people think nothing of it though, so they may not quit as readily as you think they will. Especially if they have nothing else.
As for the Europeans and others, I said you could just give them a division. So you could just leave them in it and manage it similar to how you do any other division. Of course they shouldn’t be in the league to begin with, but I digress. This is still a new league, and you should be commended for trying to let the whole world in. But alas, it has been tried already and it doesn’t work. I didn’t make the game or the internet, it’s just how it is.
^^^^ This is the reason why I haven’t joined in. It would be unfair to myself and/or opponent and wouldn’t be a match that would allow either player to play at their best.

I wasn’t going to upload these since they are so terrible, but oh well, here you go. A lot of 1 move action. I was able to do a few BnB combos here and there by memory and hoping it will just come out. We both dropped Ultra juggles, although Sakura’s is harder to do than Rogs. It’s a mess, just listen to the sounds of me hitting buttons and look at when the move actually comes out. LOL Funny stuff.
this is just a league for fun. i play ppl each week and like to see where i stand for fun…kinda like a sports team. ive already played someone from europe and yeah our connection was shitty and i did lose a match to him due to shitty connection, but ehhh…its for fun and doesnt necessarily mean that you suck or youre the best.
if you (not directing this at you, Brutal) are wanting to compete on a serious level, you should understand that this league may not be for you. i think what youre looking for are local tournaments. aside from just playing championship mode all day and building up your GP to show all of the online community how big your package is, youre also able to participate in this league for online, convenient competitive play that is more involved. i think its awesome that salonghorn is offering this service to us as a way to be involved different from just the normal championship mode. oh and im not kissing ass either because when i reach gold and play him, i will whoop dat azz…or at least give him a run for his money. :smokin: jk…friendly gary payton talk…

lol. i dont “enjoy” laggy matches. i actually mentioned to salonghorn that the dude was from europe…implying that the matches were laggy and that setting up a time to play that fit into both of our schedules (given that we’re both in way different time zones) was not easy. id rather keep it n. america honestly, but guess what? thats not the case. what i am saying is have fun with it even if you get stuck with one of the european guys for 1 freakin week. theres about 4 or 5 of them i heard someone say and theres 50 something players in the league. just chill the hell out. you must be one sheltered individual if youre going to bitch about stuff like this especially when its only a free online street fighter league. lol :rolleyes:
So you agree with me. Thank you for your support. This is a new league and if no one points out areas that could be improved then how will they get better. It’s fine if you want to sit there and accept a bad situation. Thankfully you have me suggesting ways to improve the league for everyone. I think SALonghorn appreciates all the suggestions for improving the league that he can get. If you have ideas then by all means let him know.
Hey SBL thanks for recording the matches. Yes the lag was the worst ever.
You need to chill a bit though and lets just try again.
Remember I said I had just moved address? I had a brand new telephone line and I got a letter from my ISP saying that they would be testing different speeds on the line fo the first few days.
Also, I had my internet going through a phone line extension cable but this weekend I took off the extension and plugged in the modem directly and I have had better connection since.
At the time I played you even 3-4 bar connections were laggy! But now they are not so even if we have one bar again it shouldn’t be as laggy as the last time.
So that’s my end of it. What about you? Do you go through an extension lead? Is your PS3 internet settings on NAT Type 2?
Do these checks and I look forward to our HOnda vs Rog fight. You won’t have to put up with me forever. In my experience the better player wins lag or no lag so soon you will be in the higher bracket with all the local players with good connection.
Just try to chill out a bit.
Of course my settings are correct and yes I go direct, wired from the modem. Like I said before try it out with different people fir a few weeks. Maybe you get good enough connections with east coast people. Just playing me every week won’t help your experience. I figured we have to play anyway so it’s not a big deal. But if I don’t say anything it’s obvious no one else will (even though they agree with me) so how would the boss man know there is a problem. I’m just letting him know. That’s all.

And I’m sure everyone else will let me know if their matches are laggy. Of course, this is online gaming so it will always be a concern. Surprisingly, this has been the most convesation about since the League began tho.
Thanx for recording and completing the matches, SBL and FLOWERS. That Balrog/Sakura match was great. Your playing is obviously a better testament, but the match didn’t look laggy. I’ve played matches where it would literally pause every 2 seconds, or matches where there is a tremedous amount of slowdown. The laggy connections do hurt the charging players more tho. I’ll add the Balrog/Sakura vid to the SFCCL video page.
