Greetings to the SRK.com forums.

I wanted to personally invite all players to join a PS3 online league for SF4. I originally created the league in the Official PS Street Fighter forums (Street Fighter Series - PlayStation.com Forums). Several members in the League are already on SRK.com, and have long wanted to advertise the site here.

Since then, the SFCCL (Street Fighter 4 Champions & Conteners League) has grown & played for the last 4 months. We are always looking to play new players. The league is a weekly activity that ranks and sets matches for all members. Each member is allowed to have 2 fighters in the League. Every week or 2, new matches are posted based on the fighter’s rank. Win your match, and you move up the rankings. There are a total of 4 divisions to play, allowing players to meet & fight new players. Each division has it’s own champion. Every couple of weeks, we have inter-divisional matches that allow players to move up or change divisions, creating all new matches versus new players.

There aren’t many demands from the League. Special events are voluntary and open to those available to play. You only have to play your 2 fights (one per character) in the alloted time, usually 2 weeks. You and your opponent setup a time that is convenient to both, and report back the results. Winner moves up in the rankings, and loser falls in the rankings.

All players have 2 fighters in the League. Every week (or other week), new rankings and matches are posted based on the results of the matches the week before. Winners move up the rankings, and losers fall. The matchups follow this basic format:

**Division Champion vs. #1 Contender **(winner = Champion, loser = #4 ranked fighter)
**#2 ranked fighter vs. #3 ranked fighter ** (winner = #1 contender, loser = #5 ranked fighter)
#4 ranked fighter vs. #5 ranked fighter (winner = #2 rank, loser = #7 ranked fighter)
#6 ranked fighter vs. #7 ranked fighter (winner = #3 rank, loser = #8 ranked fighter)
**#8 ranked fighter vs. #9 ranked fighter ** (winner = #6 rank, loser = #10 ranked fighter)
**#10 ranked fighter vs. #11 ranked fighter ** (winner = #8 rank, loser = #11 ranked fighter)
And so on…

The winner/loser results posted above are applied to the following week. The number of fighters in each division may change as players join or drop the League, but the results of the matches will follow this basic ladder. Bottom line, win your matches & you rise to the top of the division. Become champ & then defend your title versus the next worthy opponent.

NOTE - rankings are tied to fighters, not players. So if you must fight with the fighters you choose. If you want to use another character, you may switch your character but you will fall to the bottom of the rankings in your division & start over with your new fighter. This rule was put in to prevent players from playing as one character & then switching to another during League matches. Also, you may choose any two fighters but if you may only choose one between Ken/Ryu/Akuma. This is to keep the League from beign overrun with Shoto characters.

Every couple of weeks, the League has inter-division matches where two divisions fight each other. For example, GOLD division fighters versus SILVER division figthers. This gives everyone in the League a chance to change divisions and play new members. The winner of the inter-divisional match goes to the higher division (GOLD), and the loser falls to the lower division( SILVER). Matchups are associated with your current rank. For example, the Division Champ vs Division Champ, #1 ranked fighter vs #1 ranked fighter, #2 ranked fighter vs #2 ranked fighter, etc. Currently, we have 4 divisions (Gold, Silver, Bronze, and White). All new members begin in the White division. Your success in the League is directly tied to winning your weekly match.

Players are responsible for contacting their opponents once the matches are posted & setting up a time to play. Best way to do that is to add as many members to your Friends List so you see when they are online/available. All League matches are best 2 out of 3 five-round matches. Report back the results to me. I will send out a PSN message to all members notifying everyone about the new rankings & matches being posted on the SFCCL website. I’ll also post the rankings/matches on these forums if you prefer.

Glad to have you, RIPPER6! I got your PSN name & I’ll send you a Friends Request. I assume the two fighters you will use (based on your sig) are BISON and RYU? You can always change them later, but you’ll have to start over from the bottom of the rankings with your new fighters, so choose wisely!

Sorry for those that didn’t make into the League for Week 10. You’ll be added for Week 11, which is as soon as all Week 10 matches are complete. The 7 new players that joined via SRK.com now encompass the WHITE division.

Remember all matches are best 2 out of 3 five-round matches. Report all results back to me. Good Luck!

SFCCL Notes:

  • 2 members dropped out - Kiknchikn7, Jimbo6889
  • 7 new members from SRK.com - Eltwopee, Kurokiba13, Marcopolo177, AWDdsm, Manwithnoarms, xXUltimaCloudxX, Fobi_Yo
  • With the dropouts + 7 new members, some players we moved up to new divisions to make room for the new members
  • Following Week 9 results, DELIRIOUSIDIOT and OXN fighters were moved from the SILVER division to the GOLD division
  • Following Week 9 results, the top Bronze players (BANKERD, OXN, DEVON202, and COPPERMINE2002) were moved from the BRONZE division to the bottom of the SILVER division
  • The BRONZE division is now made up lower-ranked players that lost the Inter-Divisional matches in Week 9 and the old WHITE division
  • The WHITE division is now completely made up of the 7 new players (14 fighters)
  • The number of fighters in each division changed from 10/10/10/10 to now having 12/12/12/14

Basically, when all matches in Week 10 are complete. I’d like to say a week after the matches were posted (last Friday, Aug 7th), but some ‘weeks’ take anywhere from a week to 2 1/2 weeks.

Most members of the League play their matches quickly, but there are others that drag their feet. If they are the same people every week, I’ll drop them from the League. For those unsettled matches, I have to make a call based on communication & online activity. I don’t like doing that - SO PLAY YOUR MATCHES!

I hope to post Week 11 rankings & matches no later than August 19th. I’ll let you know via message on the PSN since you are on my Friends List.

BTW, what 2 fighters are you going to use in the League? I don’t have any written down for you.

Everyone is required to use 2 different fighters as each fighter will earn their own rank. Your CAMMY may excel into the higher divisions, while your 2nd fighter battles in the lower divisions.

Let me know who else you want to use & I’ll add you to the League for Week 11.
