I’m an average at best, but I have fun playing and I have fun running the League. Never thought it would be so popular but I look forward to see where it goes. I do need to update the Rules & Regulations page as it is weeks old created for a much smaller League.

And I’m sure everyone else will let me know if their matches are laggy. Of course, this is online gaming so it will always be a concern. Surprisingly, this has been the most convesation about since the League began tho.

Thanx for recording and completing the matches, SBL and FLOWERS. That Balrog/Sakura match was great. Your playing is obviously a better testament, but the match didn’t look laggy. I’ve played matches where it would literally pause every 2 seconds, or matches where there is a tremedous amount of slowdown. The laggy connections do hurt the charging players more tho. I’ll add the Balrog/Sakura vid to the SFCCL video page.

No. It was not that kind of lag. It was the input delay type of lag. If you read the description of sbl’s video’s you will see. Listen to the button inputs and see how long it takes for the effect to show on the screen.

I ended up heavily relying on j.hk and whiffing ex-shouken hoping that he would trhow out a dash or a poke. Listen to his commentary when he sees me jumping and says, “That’s all you can do huh?” Yes, that really was all that I could do lol!
Notice that I was winning at first knowing that the lag would prevent sbl from blocking high quick enough from my J.Hk but he soon learned to do J.HP to swat me out of the sky whenever I tried a jump in. He also timed his headbutt into ultra better than I timed my EX-Shunpu into Ultra. Don’t tell me my juggle ultra is easier to do than his in lag. This is untrue.

Also, Gen has a charge stance and I lost to his shoto Ryu so what does that say?

I thought we both did as well as could be expected under those horrendous laggy circumstances. Balrog hb>ultra is far easier than sakura’s without question. The reason shotos have advantage over charge characters in laggy matches is because they can pound out a move over and over until it comes out, where as a charge character can do it once and hope it comes out otherwise he loses his charge and probably just sticks out a poke and gets countered. They both suffer in the combo area, and really only zangief has a huge advantage in a super laggy match.

Wanna give props to Silvgast3. We had a crappy connection, but he did everything he could. An hour later we were able to get a satisfactory match in.

“everything” should include, at minimum:
#1. Wired connection only. No wireless
#2. If you have cable Internet make sure it isn’t split more than once before it goes into your modem (weakens signal more you split it)
#3. If possible, move as close as you can to your opponenet. Ie Europe to Europe, na to na, Asia to Asia, etc.

SFCCL WEBSITE UPDATE

I’ve just created a new page on the SFCCL.weebly.com website. It lists all SFCCL current members’ Capcom online stats, including GPs, CPs, and BPs. Since all members of the League are on my Friends List, I am able to view everyone’s stats and I thought others would be interested to see the stats of fellow members or how you might rank amongst the other members.

FAIR WARNING - if this results in any distracting trash-talking, I’ll take it down. Save that for the PSN and PMs. More specifically, these stats have NOTHING to do with the League so it serves no direct purpose. Also, as noted by TIGERZ_BONE_21 lack of stats, these are just stats members have complied thru the Capcom system. It really is no direct indication of a player’s skill level since obviously some players don’t play online much for a variety of reasons (lag issues, etc.) However, it might work, on a small scale, as a scouting tool for your League matches.

this is just a league for fun. i play ppl each week and like to see where i stand for fun…kinda like a sports team. ive already played someone from europe and yeah our connection was shitty and i did lose a match to him due to shitty connection, but ehhh…its for fun and doesnt necessarily mean that you suck or youre the best.

if you (not directing this at you, Brutal) are wanting to compete on a serious level, you should understand that this league may not be for you. i think what youre looking for are local tournaments. aside from just playing championship mode all day and building up your GP to show all of the online community how big your package is, youre also able to participate in this league for online, convenient competitive play that is more involved. i think its awesome that salonghorn is offering this service to us as a way to be involved different from just the normal championship mode. oh and im not kissing ass either because when i reach gold and play him, i will whoop dat azz…or at least give him a run for his money. :smokin: jk…friendly gary payton talk…

I am in no way that good at this and would never be good enough to compete on a serious level. If you don’t mind a bad connection then by all means lets have a match because having fun is what it is all about. Send an FR and I will accept. BTW I don’t have any online points of any kind and am not into the showing off bit when it comes to points etc. This league is definetely a great thing and I am glad that it is around. At some point if I have good enough connections with other peeps then I will join if not then I will just play people on my friends list for fun. :smokin:
