when i press launch sf4 through your tool, it doesnt start up. How to fix that?
can you look at this:
f1 = everyone gets his/her default costume?
f2 = every character will browse normal/alt/custom costumes?
f3 = back cycle normal/alt/custom costumes?
f4 = every character gets a random color/costume?
f5 = again everyone gets his/her default costume?
f6 = not working?
f7 = on/off
this is because i dont quite understand the meaning of these features.
btw, is every color/costume chosen still being at colorbox 01?
Thank you.
Can you be a little more specific about what is going on when you try to launch SF4 through SF4CMM? Try to be as detailed as possible.
F1 - Normal Costume / Global Selection Key:
* this key applies the selected costume for the selected character to it’s normal color slot 01 (or alternate color slot 01 if in alternate mode)
F2 - Normal - Alternate Costume Mode / Cycle Key:
* this key switches between Normal and Alternate costume modes. While in normal mode, F1 will apply the selected costume to the normal color slot 01. In alternate mode, F1 will apply the selected costume to the alternate color slot 01.
F3 - Back Cycle Key: Use this key to cycle backwards in the selected character’s costumes.
F4 - Random Selection Key: Use this key to select a random costume for the selected character. The key will apply the costume immediately to the normal color slot 01 (if in normal costume mode) or to the alternate color slot 01 (if in alternate costume mode)
F5 - Original Selection Key: Use this key to restore the original costume for the selected character. The key will apply the normal costume immediately to the normal color slot 01 (if in normal costume mode), or it will apply the alternate costume for the alternate color slot 01 (if in alternate costume mode).
F6 - Global Mode Selection Key (future work): For now, this key is disabled, but it will be used to enable the management or other mods, like voice, background and music.
F7 - On/Off Key: This key activates/deactivates all the SF4CMM keys, so you won’t accidentally click on one of them when typing a message, for example.
Yes, for simplicity reasons every costume is applied to color slot 01 (normal or alternate, depending on the costume mode selected by F2).
Regarding your observations: the select file/folder screen depends its .NET implementation from Microsoft. I could change it but it would be too much trouble for a very very small feature enhancement, in my opinion:P
Leogansky, could you add a (random select outfit every character) feauture in the next update?
BTW, I reinstalled .NET and everything is working perfectly now. I’m just missing that one feature, because I’ve imported loads of custom outfits and I like to have them randomly set. It takes much time and effort to press F4 for each of the characters manually since I’ve got to press Ctrl+… first to choose the character.
Do you mean:
a) press a key and select a random character and a random costume for it
b) press a key and select a random costume for every character in the game
By the way, you can apply the costumes in “offline” mode (it’s easier than using the keys sometimes, but you’ll need to Alt-Tab out of the game in order to access SF4CMM).
i think he means B, and that wouldn’t work very well in game, because intalling costumes for all characters takes to much time. but it would be great if he means a “random costume for all characters” in the color manager menu.
^This since I still want to select the character I want.
I hope this feature will not consume too much time to randomly select an outfit for each character as Gorecorpse mentioned.
Just my thought, because there is a “reset default costumes for all characters” feature, why not a "random select costumes for all characters"
Something like this? > http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8138/wouldbenice.png
This would be awesome.
I recently realized that capcom released some alternate costumes etc and i do like some of them… i then started searching about this whole thing and realized that i got to buy the package or something(not sure if it is available for PC anyway)in order to ‘activate’ the costumes, assuming that the mod does that and doesn’t just replace the old skins.
However - i then found out about the skins being already in the directory, then i downloaded the mod manager and started playing with the costumes - all cool but it seems that i can’t select any alternate costume colors, if i try the character turns grey.
I tried adding(color file manager) SKR_02_10.col.emz for sakuras alternate costume and then also clicked “Apply to Alternate” but it doesn’t work.Any thoughts?
p.s. A huge thanks for this mod… made SFIV way more fun for me!
I’ll try to be brief and summarize things for you:
1 - The original game has 10 selectable costumes per character (10 colors)
2 - The original game also has 10 alternate costumes per character already inside the DVD, but you need to buy the DLC in order to unlock the in-game interface to be able to select them.
3 - There is an alternate costume toggler cheat that allows you to gain access to these 10 alternate costumes, but since this is illegal, I cannot post you with information on how to get it, but you can find it easily enough if you surf the web looking for it.
4 - So, in total, you have 20 costumes per character. In fact, it corresponds to 1 costume file (*.cos) and 10 color files (*.col) for the normal costumes and 1 costume file and 10 color files for the alternate ones, in SF4CMM's terms.
5 - Remember you can use an alternate costume mod in a normal color slot as well, if you click "Apply to Normal" instead of alternate.
In conclusion - in order for you to use any costume with the alternate costume slots, you need the alternate costume unlocker tool, or you need to buy the DLC in order to unlock the in-game user interface to select them.
I get an error when I’m clicking “Read file info” in the Add Costume Mod option. The program doesn’t find the file: C:\Temp\SF4CMMTemp empFile.emz
This MAY be because I had troubles installing .Net Framework 3.5 because I can’t get a internet connection on the computer I’m running SF4 on, so I had to install the whole thing manually and I don’t think I installed all the files
