Hello again!
I just came back from holidays, so I couldn’t test the 0.6d version yet. Anyway, I’m sure it will be even better than the last one . Good luck with next version!
Oh, by the way, I forgot to point you a possible improvement (at least in my opinion): the zip import could be even more user friendly if we did not have to tick “import zip rather than directory” to import a single costume. Why not simply put a “*.zip” extension filter on the file chooser and let the user select either a zip (=>single costume import) or a directory (=>multiple costume import)?
And a last note: if I remember well, the single zip import (ie with the appropriate box ticked) memorizes the last location on the HDD but the multiple zip import does not. [As I said, I haven’t tried 0.6d yet, my remarks are based on 0.6c, so my points may be already obsolete, sorry if it’s the case]
I am having trouble adding/changing .vfx files. I click the add .vfx button, browse for the file, click to open it, and when it goes back the the CMM and I click ‘Read File Info’, a box pops up telling me the program cannot add the file and my options are either to continue (without adding the file) or quit. Am I doing something wrong?
I personally use the dark hadou pack, so I can assure you it works. I’ll try the others too. Can you tell me step by step what you are doing, so I can try to replicate your error?
Some guys on the skin thread couldn’t get it to work with sf4cmm. I tested it and they’re right. The program is messing with the .cos file somehow. Manual installation works perfectly.
The results of my tests show the following
The program is successfully converting any of the .col files of the pack.
If you extract the .cos file and install it manually everything works fine.
The synth voice doesn’t announce the names of some characters after a original costume restore or a random pick. For example, it should say “random normal costume applied for akuma”, but instead it says “random normal costume applied for …”. I noticed that this happens only to some characters, not all of them. Do you have any idea why this happen? Is this intentional? Do you want me to check the characters that are not announced?
This is no big deal, because I usually press a key for a character and then quickly press f4 for a random pick, so i always know which one was changed. However, if I accidentally press f4 I wouldn’t know whose costume I changed.
It installs perfectly if you use the directory structure expected by SF4CMM:
costume dir
---- col
---- cos
---- vfx
---- jpg
That said, if you just convert the rar into a zip, it won’t work as expected, because you have one *.cos and three *.col (only one cos and col per costume/dir). The jpegs are not used either because they are not inside the correct dir (i.e., the col/cos dir).
That’s strange. If it’s not too much to ask, can you get me the names of the characters in which this is happening?
I re-did the zip to fix the file structure and everything installed correctly but the game still crashes at the VS screen if you select the outfit.
Adding the col and the cos manually via the manager makes it crash as well.
Directly replacing the files in the folder without the use of the mod manager is fine though, it doesn’t crash that way.
I am guessing it is in the correct format because it added 3 costumes as well as placing previews. This one has all 3 colors (I was just trying to use 2) but I noticed one other thing, in the mod manager, only 2 entries appear when you add the files. BLR and BLR1. I am guessing this is what you meant by :
Still loving the mod manager even with this little speed bump, probably the best tool for swapping I’ve had the pleasure of using in ages.
Ok, I figured out what the problem is. The *.cos internal file structure for Vega is different than from the other characters that I’ve tested. This means that I have to go over every character *.cos file to solve this problem.
Since I had never tested mods for Vega, this didn’t came up. You can still use the costume mod in SF4CMM without the *.cos file (you’ll lose some visuals from the *.cos file). Just remove the *.cos file for now from the zip and it will work fine.
I’ll try and fix this as soon as possible. Thank you for posting this problem;)
One other thing, the zip structure is still wrong. You have three *.col files in the same dir. It’s supposed to be ONE and ONLY ONE *.col file PER DIRECTORY! If you do put others, SF4CMM just ignores them and only adds the first one. Same goes for jpeg files.
I’m not so sure that is the case! But I’ll double check everything later on tonight;) I suspect that if you try to apply Vega’s alternate costume to the normal slot in SF4CMM (i.e., forcing the use of another *.cos file), SF4 will crash.
These are the characters who have the name pronounced after pressing F4 (“random normal costume applied for character”)
