A lot of Kaqn’s matches.
For those who aren’t familiar with the GG scene, Kaqn is one of the legends of that game (has been placing top 8 at SBO since #R days), and is considered one of the best (if not the best) Order-Sol in Japan.
It’s nice to see players from other games (somebody told me the other day that one famous Melty player was also switching to SFIV) focusing on SFIV.
I heard a lot of those players are going to SFIV right now because of the national tourney… qualifiers are going on right now so I think people wanna try to join in. Hopefully those players stick around after nationals are done, that Boxer is pretty damn sick!
Matsu (??), not Mattsun, also plays SFZ3, and is regarded as one of the best V-Nash players. He’s also won a major (several?) Guilty Gear tournament, IIRC.
Compared to the last generation of games, SFIV makes for quite a boring spectator game anyway, I’d say. It’s kind of like CVS2 in that it makes for a much more fun game to play than to watch.
I think this is the manliest Guile I’ve seen. He works for every inch, every poke, every bit of life. In a 3/5 match, that takes a fuck ton of patience and nerves. He totally outplayed that Sagat, but he still needed lucky ultra to win. How the hell did he jump out of Tiger Ultra chip death in time?
This batch of Gamechariot vids was actually quite nice this time. Sure, it was repetitive as always. However, everyone played so hard in these vids. Even that 6 minute Dhalsim vs. Guile match went by pretty quickly. It was also the most diverse batch of vids from Gamechariot I’ve seen.
Dhalsim
Viper
Guile
Rufus
Balrog
Sagat
Ryu
Yeah, there may have been a little too much Ken/Viper. But overall it was nice to see such a beastly Guile, and Aji’s Sim is always a pleasure to watch.
And SFIV is a spectator game. I’ve never played the game, but it’s mad fun to watch. But maybe I can understand the subtleties of the strategy. Especially the way that Guile worked his ass off in those matches. SFIV is definitely more fun to watch than 3s, and this is coming from a fanatical match video watcher.
well um… I think if you’re one of this new breed of young ‘players’ that watch videos and don’t play games, then yeah you’ll enjoy watching match videos. Kind of goes without saying. It also helps that the game is new and we’re gagging for anything to do with it.
