I could see that being useful against gief, meterless or crossed up honda, dee jay, boxer. Maybe OS st rh or something too.
for the combo j.hk, s.hp, l.tatsu, l. shoryu, FADC, h.red fireball, wound’t it be better to end the combo with a ex shoryu because i found that ending that combo with an ex shoryu does 3 points more damage than said combo above
Strange, didnt notice before lol
Well the only reason i can think off is DF pressure possibilities after shaku maybe
want to ask a very noobie question here:
It is very easy to do a cr.lk->lk tatsu. But it is very difficult to do a cr.lk->cr.lk->lk tatsu. Samething goes with cr.lp x 2 -> lk tatsu
Is there any reason for that? Thanks a lot in advance!
Its because chain attacks cant be cancelled to specials. You have to link the c.lp x2.
c.lk->c.lk-> lk tatsu isnt possible because c.lk is +3 on hit and have 4f startup which means it cant be linked into itself, only chained.
your timing is wrong. it sounds simple but really all you need to do is change up your timing. it may feel weird or wrong to change, but what you are doing is obviously wrong so that makes sense right?
when you are doing lk or lp to tatsu, it’s called a chain. you do the tatsu before the light attack is done. when you are doing lp lp or lk lk you are doing a link, where you hit the opponent in the stun frames of your first move but not until the move is completed. get it?
Thx for your reply guys
So here is my interpretation: you can only cancel to a special move if the moves prior to the special moves are “timed” (meaning i pressed the buttons at the right time, like cr.mp x2 -> lk tatsu). If the previous normal moves are “cancelled” into each other (like cr.lk x2, the second cr.lk is activated during the active frame of the first lk), then I cannot cancel into special move.
Does this sound about right?
Kinda, the “timed” term you use for the example u gave is actually called “link” (another example is c.mp, c.lk). On the other hand chain is a string, say c.lp x3, that doesnt require any timing after the 1st hit connects for the following hits to connect to. Also chains (say c.lp x3 again) cant be interrupted after the first hit is blocked, so you wont get hit but a move with invincibility, or get a counter (if the opponent mashes a move without invincibility) in between the chain.
Question about these combos vs crouching:
[2] 310 (520): c.LK-c.LP, c.MP -> QCF+P -> FADC, c.MP -> QCB+LK, c.HK
[2] 334 (520): c.LK-c.LP, c.MP -> QCF+P -> FADC, c.MP -> QCB+LK, DP+HP
When I finish with the QCF+P it doesn’t bring my opponent to standing, so how am I suppose to get the QCB+LK to work? Was this only in vanilla?
Also, I tried these on standing, and when I get to the QCB+LK part, the opponent is too far away and it doesn’t connect.
Those combos cant be done vs crouching opponents.
Try c.lk/c.lp after the fadc because they cause less pushback than the c.mp so lk tatsu is easier to connect afterwards.
First hit of lk tatsu doesn’t force stand, only mk, hk and EX.
Okay, well I guess that needs to be fixed in OP.
Thanks for tip spidey.
But the combo still gives you enough time to check whether your opponent is standing or not. You could finish with a sweep instead if he’s not standing.
You can link sweep but any of Akuma’s crouching normals, but yeah thats why the string is c.lk, c.lp, c.mp… so u can hit confirm. So if they are crouching try ex tatsu, hk tatsu (if u know you are close for the first hit to hit) or just a hadoken ;p
Yeah, but in topic it says that those are suppose to work vs crouching. I’m saying that needs to be changed.
Fair enough.
I still recommend training hit-confirm whether they’re standing or crouching.
can akuma combo into his Ultra 2 w/o a focus attack crumple?
s.HP xx Teleport xx U2
Air Tatsu > U2
DF Kick/j.HP or HK > U2
EX air hadouken > U2
c.HP and the medium normals can work too iirc, but s.HP is more reliable.
For a more confirmable combo, do a bnb ending in hadouken, FADC and do s.HP xx Teleport xx U2.
i seccond that motion
