Noob here, anyways When I do demon flip dive kick to c.LK-c.LP, c.MP -> QCB+LK, DP+HP, how come my tatsu sometimes whiffs?
MP knocks your opponent back further than certain other pokes. That’s why.
I guess your dive kick was a deep hit ? It has to hit high.
ok…im starting with ssf4 akuma but i have played him since alpha…at what point do i link the cr. hk after the qcb.lk? im having alot of difficulty there? is this a very tightly linked combo?
This is especially true against Ryu. I aaaaaaaaaaaaaaalways forget this though when I’m playing against one.
It is a hard timing. Look for when after the qcb.lk akuma lands and for a split second he ducks. Thats about the timing you want to hit it.
Which character are you trying sweep? some are more difficult than others, I’d suggest to start learning the tatsu sweep link vs Rog first, he’s one of the easiest characters to tatsu sweep IMO.
One link I’ve been using to death now:
DF Kick > cr. jab > cr. mp > lk tatsu > sweep/SRK
I’ve got the timing down, works well and the link is easy so as to avoid SRK mashers. On punish situations I like to use:
cr. mp > lk tatsu > sweep/SRK
I know I can use st. FP but its a comfort thing.
But you give away some (unscaled) damage/stun with cr.mp instead of cr.fp oder st.fp as a beginning of a punish.
But if you want to punish him with ex-tatsu in the corner (being point blank and with the option of srk’ing him after ex.tatsu), then cr.mp is the best choice (because your opponent stays in the corner with cr.mp). Otherwise better go for the fiercepunch on punish situations.
Yeah, definitely agree. As I said, its a comfort thing for me. In the corner I like the following:
DF Kick > cr. jab (2) > cr. mp > EX Tatsu > SRK
Totally killer, looks great too!
Anybody mine giving me a few combos with using S.RH after a FADC FB?
Thanx abunch
If you can do st.rh after an FADC fireball consistently, you don’t need help. It’s very hard to do in super.
Can anyone explain why Tokido uses cr.lk st.lk cr.lp/mp as a blockstring instead of the standard c.lp x3? Just hit-confirming?
The st.lk is an option select with st. RH. If the opponent backdashes the far st. RH comes out and they get hit, and you can combo them after.
c.lk, c.lp, c.mp xx hado xx FA dash forward c.hp xx lk tatsu
works on chun-li in the corner afaik
cs.mp
I was messing around in Training Mode earlier with more unusual combos than our standard shit. I’m surprised I don’t see this utilized more in combos. It’s easier to link it from c.lp (feels like it anyway), provides almost no pushback, and does 10 more damage than c.mp. It requires a bit more execution since your stick/d-pad has to be neutral or back, but I’m really liking this one. I think I’ll toss it into muscle memory.
It’s easier to link from cr. lp because it’ll be a 3 frame link (close standing mp has 3 frame startup), but wouldn’t you always be in range to link close standing fierce instead anyway? It gives better damage and much better stun that Akuma can’t afford to give up, guess there’s a reason why it barely ever gets used. Could be useful for throwing setups, it’s only -1 on block.
hoping this isnt already mentioned but on training mode I got curious and came up with this of HP. Shoryuken:
(270 dmg, 3 EX) hp. shoryuken > FADC (3rd hit) > j. EX tatsu (angled forward)
(302 dmg, 4 EX) hp. shoryuken > FADC (3rd hit) > j. EX tatsu (angled forward/neutral) > EX tatsu - corner OR back to corner only.
It looks a lot flashier than hp. Red Fireball and does more damage, but costs more EX meter. The j. EX tatsu after FADC is hard to time. The tatsu has to start almost immediately on jumping and getting a s. EX tatsu just isn’t worth it so make sure you get this down.
On non-corner combo the Ex tatsu will eject them behind you always. For the corner ones, if you’re in the corner do the combo normally with forward angle j. EX tatsu, this will send them behind you in the corner. If they’re in the corner do a neutral jump EX tatsu and they land right in front of you still in the corner. Upon connecting with the s. EX tatsu they will be ejected to the middle behind you. So you can choose to keep them in the corner or use another EX for 32 dmg and put the fight in the middle.
This was tested against Hakan, I’m not sure this will work on all characters or have the same effect yet. I’m also a very low level player so I’m not sure if this is practical, if a better player with more dexterity wants to see other potential off the EX tatsu combo please share.
does cr.mp to cr.hk only combo off of counter hit?
is it possible to do cr.mp cr.mp cr.hk?
also do you ever hit confirm cr.lp cs.hp xx light tatsu off of anything other than a demonflip dive kick? sorry for the double post
