SF4 Akuma Combos

During point blank hit confirming fireball combos, do the strength of the fireball actually make a difference? they seem to hit as soon as it leaves akumas hands, speed neglected. unless its a long c.mk poke to fireball where fireball doesnt always connect.

If you ask me, I say:

point blank - lp.hadou/ more frame space
c.mk poke - hp.hadou/ more chance to combo

I actually had a street fighter dream last night…yeah…
I dreamt that you could link s.HK into s.HK into HP.dp. I remember seeing 7 hit combo being displayed on the screen.

^you can…have the opponent focus have the first hit absorb second hit will be counter hit…you can link another HK (make sure it’s a fHK) and the HP dP will link too (maybe not all 3 hits though)…possible just not practical.

In online matches which of the two do you use more, prefer, or is just easier. Or do you prefer an other variation, and do you use it often?

cr.MK -> :qcf: P -> FADC -> BnB

I find cr.MK easier, and maybe because of the range it’s more useful.

cr.MK -> FB is for for confirming off a poke.
st.HP -> FB would be for a punish.

Completely different purposes IMO.

Sorry, sure this is probably old hat for experienced Akuma players but was watching this Mago vid, [media=youtube]zRCgM0Auc9A[/media], and at 2:15, Infiltration start’s doing this combo, that just doesn’t seem to stop. Is it forward roundhouse, to jab, to forward roundhouse repeat? And is it Sagat exclusive because of his hit box?

Again, apologize if this is on like page 2 or something.

You can do that on character with big hitboxes like sagat, zangief and abel…sagat is the “easiest” one and you can do lots of repetitions on him

Technically you can link the LP > HK on any character is is just you won’t get more than one iteration off unless their hit box is of a good size. With Gief it takes about 2 or 3 loops.

your list is way off west…too simplistic. Sagat is god tier. But geif is near god tier and balrog is definitely not a D. “D” would be any character like ryu where you pretty much have to luck out on the spacing to loop. And there is certainly F. Blanka comes to mind… other stuff blah blah blah

Guile can be looped multiple times, as well as Rufus. I still pretty much agree though.

Is the best hit confirm combo in the history of mankind. Crouching, standing, it matters not.

I laugh in the face of anyone who uses 2 bars for cr.LP > cr.LP > cr.LP xx LK Tatsu > LP SRK > FADC > HP Shaku. I am amazed I still see top players use that dusty shit.

Not necessarily a combo question but I’m sure it’s been discussed and don’t want to make a thread: I just noticed that if you do the full motion for shaku but plink the punch with KK (input = :hcb: P, PKK) you get a flaming/lit up ex-tatsu. I guess the shaku is cancelled really fast into the ex-tatsu or something.

Anyone know if that gives the tatsu any altered properties, or does it just look fucking awesome? I tested out and it doesnt give you any extra super bar, but the ex-tatsu is so whacky as it is I can’t tell if it hits or throws any differently.

can u only do that with ex tatsu? what if u could do that with a regular FB, would make people think you u are throwing shaku.
