I can’t seem to do it when cancelling from a normal though. So I won’t be able to try fit it into corner combos.
It randomly happened in the middle of my cancel combo in training mode actually. Probably because I have a habit of starting with :df: while comboing, and canceling from there, which sometimes produces random shakus instead of tatsu if I do it too fast.
But the video is of a “Taunt #7” being cancelled into EX Tatsu. In no way can you cancel one special move into another, I don’t see how performing a pseudo-red fireball motion and ex tatsu motion simultaneously would garner such a result.
West guile and rufus are (saw Lord you beat me to it) A tier at least in loop tiering. Gator gief is no where near sagat or abel easy…guile is easier/safer/more practical to loop for vortex reasons.Rog sucks to loop as well 2 loops and you’re guessing…“will my LP land or will I eat a HB->ultra?”
edit: I get the shaka fb kara cancel on my teleports too…it turns a 0 frame teleport into a 3 frame teleport with makes me sad sometimes. If you could do it on purpose for a valid reason like a fb war you’d be beast but the window to cancel is tiny and you need beastly speed…i’d put in on par with the tsuji demon.
I guess maybe I was wrong about the canceling, can’t reproduce atm. But yeah, it isn’t a taunt, its the shaku… try it no taunts on. No clue what mechanic would produce that, but it does.
Edit: Through a few wasted hours I’ve succeeded in doing the same thing with DP, both teleport directions and super. Teleports you can mostly just tell by the massive dust cloud from shaku.
Did you not notice the taunt done afterwards?
I was about to mention that, but you beat me to it.
Easiest way to reproduce it is just to map KKK to the button next to HP and just plink the two when you do a Shaku.
And it is impossible to do it when cancelling from a normal. Tried it for 15 minutes straight out of a standing cl.HP.
Actually no I didn’t since I turned it off immediately. Well that’s definitely weird, that would explain a lot of me glowing red and then doing something else and getting hit.
I’m sure it’s the same properties as plinking with Gouken’s counter with punch, and then kick.
You can see his hand go from the top counter, and in 1 frame, switches to low counter.
So canceling the shaku hadou into Ex-tatsu just might work… just been forgetful to try it out in training mode

I’m very new to Akuma and cannot get this combo. Maybe it’s because I do not know how to vortex, but if somebody could explain to how to do this combo that would be great. I can do his other BnB combos on this list but I cannot do the ones that have the “Vortex” Setup.
if ur trying that on ryu it wont work u cant sweep him after the tatsu. i try those vortex combos on sagat in training. but if u cant do the beginning part then u need to learn about links. there are pauses inbetween lk lp and mp. they are very small but u have to learn them. its not mashable.
Not really usefull, but you can c.lk, s.lk, fs.lp, fs.rh on characters like ryu & co.
the c.lk, s.lk gives you the perfect spacing for a fs.lp which can obviously be linked with fs.rh
Ending BNB with sweep only works on certain characters. Check my vortex tutorial if you’re confused about the vortex also.
Thanks for the help guys. Also LordofUltima i did check your vids. Very informative; i really only used it to figure out the characters i can use that combo on.

Hey guys im back again. I’m still having some problems! I switched the character to one of the people you can Vortex and i get the combo cr.lk,cr.lp,cr.mp,lk tetsu, cr.hk every 1/4 times. Thats not bad but the problem is i have no idea when to hit the cr.hk button. So basically when i get it it’s because i got it for pressing at random times. If somebody could tell me the time or moment i’m supposed to hit cr.hk that would be great.
My first post and hopefully a decent one. I have a combo that’s not in the list so maybe trag want’s to add it in. For me it’s fairly easy to do (as a n00b) and it does more damage than most other combo’s listed.
[4] 495: j.HK -> HP© -> QCB+LK, DP+LP -> FADC, HCB+HP+MP -> QCB+MK+LK
In case I didn’t write it down properly: j.HK -> HP© -> LK Tatsu, LP Shoryu -> FADC -> EX Shaku -> EX Tatsu.
Btw the EX Tatsu after a Shakuzan was inspired by LordOfUltima, since I saw it in his Vortex videos (if I’m not mistaken). Thanks for those vids btw, you rock!
^i dont think that is worth the meter but its viable if it would kill someone.
each character that u CAN do that sweep on has different timings u just have to practice u basically do it the second u have control of akuma. i would break that down into parts. tatsu first. then sweep. forget about all that stuff before it. learn that then tack on all that stuff before it. its all practice dont give up akuma ftw!
495 damage, I do that once in a while when i feel it’s gonna be enough to finish off my opponent. Plus it’s flashy as hell and easy to do
dthboy is right, you gotta time it just as you see akuma land from the tatsu. Try double tapping the c.rh or maybe plink it, helps a lot with those tight links.
