Sounds like Yeb lol, me and him used to play a lot online.
Yeb is SoCal. I think the Bay Area Gen that I hear is really good is Mike Chow (aka Ghostmaker).
Yeb definitely played the character more footsies/poking based and that is definitely more of a problem for Seth than one that is completely gimmicky.
I sort of agree with Yunghove on this one. The matchup for me is difficult sometimes with more footsies/poking based Fei’s (like Gen haha). Mostly because Fei really doesn’t have to do much. He can pretty much live off pokes and trades. I can handle Fei’s that gimmick, Chicken Wing randomly, get Flame Kick baited, etc. It’s the ones that are smart, play footsies and know they aren’t the one with 750hp that give me issues. Bad Fei’s get zoned out for free.
A friend of mine who plays locally (who also tied for 9th at NCR 2010) plays Fei like this (linked below), which has definitely helped me play against Fei’s who don’t.

Seth has pokes too. And jump fierce. And Fei’s pokes are pretty susceptible to focus absorbs (including rekkas, but it’s hard to time).
most cody’s, including me, cant anti air a wall jump fierce following a hadouken full screen. its pretty difficult to do unless you absorb/block the hadouken very quickly. also, i think cody can ex.ruffian under ex booms
I would think cr.mk would work like a charm in that situation.
I can’t stand characters with quick slides in this game.
I get what u mean… if dahlsim slides under your jump just buffer spd before landing. Guy i just neutral jump stomp and hk on the way down… sometimes it crosses up and then i combo.
Rose has the most annoying cuz her slide is comboable into the safe drill. I did see a ryu mash jab so ima try that next time after blocking the slide. What i do now is block till after drill,c. jab. J. Dk shennanigans. Works well cuz she will most likely block low after getting hit by jab.
Has anyone else ran into the problem where u play for a long while and then just drastically start to suck with seth? Like u see an outcome in your head but ur hands do something else. Tele instead of ultra… spd instead of fb. J hk instead of dk. No dashes when u want them no stomps after srks. Urgh its so frustrating.
no, i’m reversed. the more time i play during a session, the better i get.
Sometimes I think it’s just the online environment screwing with me. When you play a lot of people with good connections you forget about the few with lousy wifi. There are no links, AAs, throw techs or wake teleports when this happens and there’s not much you can do about it.
I would be so much better if I stayed offline with this game, and maybe MVC3 as well.
i think M.D. is right. especially since i recently switched to psn for shit n giggles. The timing is different and overall the competition is way off. I go back to LIVE and i get everything wrong. Kun I do mean like Hours upon hours tho lol. You warm up… win alot and then it goes down hill after.
Is your name Jose?
i wish??? lol Robert. why?
EDIT> Actually my nickname is Jose… but thats a long story.
My buddy lives in Texas, his name is Josh but some people know him as JTM, and he said he played a Seth at the arcade.
Nah brother. Wasnt me. Havent had an arcade here in years.
How do you guys feel that Seth handles the twins? I’m having a lot of trouble with the matchup, mostly because it seems like Rufus, a match where one poke getting through leads to a massive life loss.
u can probably jab them outta the dk… have u seen the hit box for them?? they are so weak.
Srk and s.mp
against gouken, if you suspect parry, cr.mp xx teleport causes parry to whiff.
you could always spd instead, but just thought id share this match-up tip
Sweet idea.
Also empty jump cr.lk is great vs wakeup parry while still being a mixup.
