Also if you get Gouken players that like to Wake-Up with Counter, Neutral Headstomp (first hit) will tag it every single time. Beats it out clean.

You have to time it so the foot of the first Headstomp is just a little above Gouken’s shoulder. You’ll want it to be a little high.

It’s pretty easy to practice in Training Mode to see how it works. It’ll beat out each one clean (if you get him at the top of his head where I believe the Counter won’t work) or force both to activate anyway (then whiffing) and leaving Seth free for another mixup.

Yeah asian core is right. I do the instant n.j. stomp. It causes seth to bounce over gouken while he counters. Then u can combo on the way down. just make sure u stomp on the way up as high as u can before jump peak and not coming down.

For the c.lk trick make sure you do the tech fail safe with c.lp just incase u get a wakeup grab from gouken, it will tech and not kill u with grab ultra/ :smiley:

The teleport move is genius!! maybe it can work to bait srk??? mashers of it and grappler spds etc??

Im thinking combo a few punches into mp then tele isntead of legs for wiffed srk etc and rape on the way down :smiley:

If I’m playing a Gouken I’ll pretty much bait parry every time with a tanden engine/spd for a while. then once they’re conditioned to stop using parry I’ll mix up the jump roundhouse fake cross up shenanigans and stuff like that. even then though I still bait Gouken a lot to parry.

Another question, how does Seth handle Blanka? Not the random blankas who just roll around everywhere, but the ones who just poke endlessly. I couldn’t find a way to get in at all.

playing zoning heavy. safe jumps and bait him to spend his meters. when blanka is meterless he’s defenseless

Focus attack absorbs his best pokes for a crumple. Dash up SPD if they are trying to bait you. lp tanden engine if you know they won’t jump. Or get far and play lame.

The biggest rule vs. Blanka is don’t get ultra’d.

Yeah, zone with sb until they have meter, then make sure you’re either in their face or turtling hard with a life lead, and watch for ex up balls. U1 and Super punish most of Blankas stuff and ex srk os is pretty good in this matchup too.

i find “Don’t jump” to also be a very good rule against Blanka.

Don’t jump, at all, if he has charge. AT ALL. Free Up Ball from almost anywhere on the screen.

With blanka i actually like to bait out u1 with instant forward jump stomp. The ultra wiffs and u can ultra 1 on landing. I also like to bait upballs on his wakeup by acting like im about to cross up but dk to the other side. I guess this is what u guys meant as safejumps as well. Upball wiffs and i wait alil bit and punish with hp on his way down.

Now some blankas change up the game and to the rainbow ball instead to mess with ur bait. Thats even better cuz u can focus it after landing from wiffed dk. He crumples and u get a free combo.

Hops are hittable with jab. And if blanka is walking up he is more than likely about to slide so just focu and crumple. Dont sb at close range.

A good rule of thumb against all chargers. If they are walking up then attack. Keep an eye out for when they are charging. And only jump when ur sure to bait.

Do you play Blankas that U1 your jumps?

Most of the ones I play locally save U1 for clean punishes or 50/50 Ultra 1 Setup.

Yeah I don’t try to safe jump Blanka with U1 because if I mistimed my safe jump at all I eat ultra.

well when i say bait an ultra… its like you instant stomp forward. the timing causes his ultra to wiff and your stomp to wiff. then you can ultra them. works every time. thats one of two only jumps i do. the other is after spd you dash in, walk alil, and jump like crossup but you dk to bait an ex upball. you can stand hp to hit him on the way down. and he wastes stock.

they dont U1 my jumps unless its wakeup. THATS when i bait them. on wakeup and not a normal jump in cuz thats suicide lol

Headstomp has grounded recovery like other moves and I don’t think it makes you recover faster.

yes but blanka ultra 1 goes forward. seth lands behind and is free to ultra after blanka comes back down from the rainbow. try it. ive never gotten killed unless they get a lucky auto correct but u shouldnt if u time it right.

you walk up right next to him. and then instant forward stomp. it will wiff if he wakes up with ultra. even if he doesnt hold down the initial ball you have more than enough time to punish and if he does, just wait for when you can toss out your ultra 1

the timing is exactly like when you corner ryu and you instant forward j stomp his wakeup srk. there we go thats the best way to describe it lol
