All my tests were done from point blank range, since i think you should always be as close to your opponent as possible because if you don’t they can backdash and be out of “suck” range. If they’re out of range they should still not be able to do much except for some weird stuff that sometimes happens, while testing with Rose for example i managed to use her ultra 1 just outside of Seth’s ultra range and it grabbed him, but when i tried to recreate that, her ultra kept whiffing every single time (tried it like 10 times, never got it to hit again).
Guile’s ultra 2 should go over Seth then suck him in so don’t know exactly what happened in your example.
Oh also i found that when Juri has a LK fireball stored, and she’s out of range, she CAN hit you out of ultra…don’t know why anyone would though since when they’re out of range they can just wait for the typhoon to end and then hit you with a combo.
Good point, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t exactly point blank range, maybe I did it too early and the suck was over, then the Ultra hit me out of it, most likely.
Question: In your tests, did you perform counter-ultras against Typhoon, or did you alternate or did you use Typhoon as the counter-ultra? (Simply put: Did you execute Typhoon second or first in these tests?).
Just curious as I would like to know full-details prior to testing this mid-match and think otherwise just based on timing and who executed first.
I went into training mode and recorded Seth doing jump forward, forward dash, then ultra, and then did the ultras i was testing myself as player 1. In all cases i waited for Seth to ultra and then do my ultra as soon as possible, did not think to set the training options to automaticly give me counter hit properties though. I did test Hakan doing ultra first and then Seth doing it ASAP and Seth’s ultra still won.
I was planning on doing it the other way round sometime in the future (other chars ultra 1st, then see if Seth’s beats it) but i have to have some free time before i try that cuz then i will have to record 35 chars doing their ultra x2 = 70 times =S
Ain’t seen Wonder_shef in long time on thsi forum… I wonder of Jinrai can highjack the first post and ass stuff to it?? lolol or we make a new one that’s more validated for SSFIV as there may be some adjustments?? what you think guys??
Also, have we got any punishments against Juri, Pinwheel and EX Pinwheels? Lemmie know? her dive Kick 1 hit, I go for SPD but sometimes she lands juuuuuussssst out of reach or it could be me walking backwards a sec too much after the block. On Triple dive kick I just c.mp > mk lightning legs.
:u: Only if you’re talking about the triple dive kick, because she usually lands way beyond st.HP’s range after Pinwheel. It’d just turn into stretchy arms.
So, This weekend I’m very likely going to play against a pretty good Dhalsim player for an extended session. I’ll try to record and put the videos up so we can start compiling some shit for the first post.
Wonder_Chef, dude, if the you’ve been busy with like… life and shit, just give us the word and we’ll make a new Match-up thread so we can update it and shit. There’s other stuff in life than SF and if you don’t have time, it’s coo.
On block you can then punish with any c.hp combo, or s.hp xx sb xx super, and ex pinwheel is punishable by c.mk xx legs, ex srk, c.mk xx super and ultra. Or if you don’t want to block it you can srk (or ex srk) it, ex legs it, stomps it if you’re in the air on its startup, ultra it, or if you’re some distance away, super it.
I’m here. I’ll update, it’s just hard with just lines of info, I should have made this thread better. I would appreciate anyone who could write a full writeup on a character.
Try jumping MP !!! it works wonders. I’ve had an airborn Abel doing j.FP on me and I’ve countered him with the MP. Several times infact lolol. he stopped jumping after the first round lol, then he try crackshoot and WAP WAP j.mp to the rescue again!!!
