Yes, that is what I got hacksparrow refer to being ugly.
Laugh.
It’s cool man. Put teh knives away. Thanks for the info and if I misread anything, it’s because working and surfing can be hazardous to your reading comprehension. Again, thanks to you and jdm for the knowledge.:china:
Are the springs fairly swappable? For instance if I wanted an LS-56, but with JLF or LS-32 tension.
Edit: Also, does the LS-56 shaft share the same diameter of the LS-32 shaft? I ask this because I’m interested in getting a custom dustwasher.
No to Spring.
No to Shaft.
Damn, thanks for the response though.

Does anyone know where i can find a round gate for the LS-56? I remember seeing someone on here selling those before and they just disappeared.
There is no Circle Main Guide for Seimitsu LS-56(-01).
eczangief is going to make one though.

Sorry to bump, but had a Seimitsu 32 question. Is there is a special way to get multiple springs into a LS-32? I can get the “cap” pushed down enough to get the E-clip on. A LS-55 spring will fit inside the 32 spring, but I just can seem to get it down. Has anybody else got multiple springs in there correctly?
Thanks.
Hi to all!
I’ve recently bought a Ls-40-01 and installed into my HRAP v3 SA. It was a hard work and I totally love how LS-40 works… but, I just realized now that ls-40-01 does not have octo gate option (I thought it does have it)… I play better with ocoto gate, so now I’m thinking to buy a LS-56-01 with octo gate, but I’m not sure how LS-56 is as stick.
Is there anyone here who can tell me the main differences between LS-56 and Ls-40? Will I need a MS mounting plate to fit LS-56 into a HRAP V3 SA, right?
thanks
The LS-56-01 is pretty much the stiffest stick out there. I won’t say the LS-32-01 is the loosest in my opinion that would be the JFL. So the LS-40-01 is in between them in terms of looseness. As for execution, the LS-56-01 with an octogate demands perfect execution of moves or else nothing comes out really. The LS-32-01 is quite forgiving on the execution, if you mess up a move something else will come out in it place. And the LS-40-01 is just right, lol. It’s the goldilocks of seimitsu sticks, that’s why i own three. Also, there is an octogate for the LS-40-01, it should come with it.
Just use this gate, the hole on the left is for octogate.

The hole on the left is for 4 way operation, up/down/left/right, and center for 2 way, left/right or up/down depending on the rotation of the gate. It isn’t an octogate. If he uses that he won’t be able to do diagonals, and that would defeat the purpose.
I thought that subguide on the left was for octagonal gate too, but is not. Moonchilde is right, is for 4 directions
Hmm, so LS-56 doesn’t look like a good option if it’s that strict… I guess I will have to adapt to square gate. Because it’s true, LS-40 is a great stick in terms of looseness/stiffness. Oh well…
thanks for your answers guys.
Get a Seimitsu LS-55-01 with octogate.
I thought LS-55 and 56 were almost the same
I like the -32 and -40 series best, myself. JLF (for me) is just too loose for the 2-D sprite fighting games and frankly only works well with Tekken and SFIV.
The -32 is a bit more forgiving for days when you just can’t relax or destress a bit…
The -40 doesn’t feel that much different than the -32 at first BUT once you get settled in you realized that it takes a bit less effort than the -32 to execute most moves. I guess that’s the ‘tighter’ response people talk about with respect to the -40.
Personally, I wouldn’t use anything tighter than the -40. I’ve had some experience with really tightly modded -32’s and JLF’s and I hated it. It took too muscle to move such tightly spring-modded sticks and if I was away a day or more from them, I could feel it.
I know about the built-in gate problems with the -32 but frankly it’s something I’ve gotten used to and generally avoid when playing games. The -40 doesn’t have that same base problem but, again, it’s not the best stick to play if feel overly stressed that day…
My only complaint about the -40 is the mounting plate. The flat plate just isn’t compatible with many stick installations besides the HRAP 3 mount area or custom mod situations such as my modded T5 face plates where I literally hang the plates from the drilled holes in the faceplate with rivets. Art Hong’s plexi cases are perfect for the flat plate; the flat plate makes it easier to adjust shaft height without having to buy a shaft extender (get the black JLF extender from eTokki if you need that).
I’ve already decided half my joysticks are going to end up with LS-40-01’s installed but am looking at buying at least 3 SS Mounting Plates since I can’t swap all the flat plates with the number of -32’s I’ve decided to get.
ya, LS-40-01 with an SS mounting plate = awesome.
Nope.
LS-55: Far engage/throw, medium tension. The pivoting mechanism is unique in that it doesn’t use a semi-circular pivot – the shaft just shifts about the base; no maintenance required.
They do use the same microswitches though.
