Why do people get bogged down about who beats who all the time anyway? It’s age-old and juvenile, esp if you factor in the fact that its between people in their mid 20s to 30s arguing about it.
There are tons more practical non-sensical bs that goes on like Hank McCoy a biologist fixing spaceships (also practicing medicine without a license or training, ethical violations), Reed Richards doing surgery (this is forgivable, but only because he’s Reed Richards, still, unless its a last resort, it shouldn’t happen), Classified Military information mentioned within earshot of Tony Stark (in the latest Ms Marvel), countless Doc Samson ethical violations, General Ross who is constantly villified yet as a fuckin General he’s always right on the frontline even carrying a weapon (That’s fuckin awesome if you ask me), lack of military intervention in catastrophic events, where does the X-men’s money come from? (they seem to have as much operating money as the Avengers and Tony Stark already spends half his money funding that! more if you count the cost of maintaining his Ironman armor). etc, etc.
Maybe because it scales down the power of a character…if you see silver surfer get knocked out hank mccoy…then when hes goes up against thanos the next fucking issue, you gotta question the writer.

thats why their are cosmic characters then street level characters then those super powered “im on earth and i run this shit” characters…you dont put spiderman on the guarians of the galaxy because we all kno he doesnt stand a fuckin chance…so if spidey was to join them and be kicking ass every issue the comic looks silly…just like the whole SI is silly to me cause if you combine the powers of say cyclops nightcrawler and wolverine and put it up against ecko, ecko should go down EASILY … :rolleyes:
now if you have a new character like say oh…red hulk and u need viewers to see his power level that you want him set up at, and u make him fuck thor up…then its all good, but your definitely not gonna make me believe a mix of sentry and hulk is gonna be taken down by a rookie-ish marvel girl who is just now only getting her shit together…i mean fuck, rogue took this bitch down.
P.S xmens money comes from prof x and warren worthington, always has always will, and not to mention hella shi’ar tech from prof x’s old bitch. hes like one of the top 5 richest of the world, somewhere in between iron fist and iron man
Just because they have the powers of the xmen or whoever doesnt mean they know how to use them well. This was bought up many time with the super skrull (OG super skrull) alone. He has all the powers of the FF and doesnt use them half as effective as the FF. And he was the 1st super skrull, so a bunch of random super skrulls who havent had there power for more than a few years and have been either sleeper units or in some kind of training room arent going to be as broken as you might think against OG heros and powers. A SI tie in with she hulk even addresses this very issue…
Plus Elektra was owning the shit out of the skrulls and the ONLY reason she got taken out was because a skrull went invisible and knocked her on her ass.
A character like Echo fighting a super skrull and winning makes sense just because she has powers just like the taskmaster and knows every martial arts from Daredevil and Cap plus she had Wolverine’s assistance during the fight.
Though i will say that OG Super Skrull Kl’rt has gotten way better with his powers.
regardless the rules still apply. These skrulls were massed produced and were just thrown out there with probably not much training. They had the powers of heroes who knew the ins and outs of there powers more than the skrulls did.
Keep that shit in reality. I’d rather waste my time arguing whether hero A can defeat hero B instead of focusing on the economics and politics of COMICS. lol.
…yeah …what was Alan Moore thinking with Watchmen, Miracleman, etc. and all that, thinking that the comicbook medium is under utilized using only rehashed juvenile themes of good and evil for 50+ years and that you could write a comic book that can appeal to a wide range of audiences, tackle relevant contemporary themes and have fully developed characters instead of just developed power-sets… ?? Xmen get there money from all the money they saved by not paying for collateral damages they cause. We dont know how much warren is worth what financial arrangements Xavier made for scott. Emma has to be worth a couple million
McCoy isn’t practicing without a liscense you have to remember that the xavier institute is an acredited university (only a telepath could swing that deal) and with the xman anyone can do anything cause the tripplets can just download information from a nasa technician and put it into your moms brain.

It’s hard to tie “sense and logic” into something like the marvel U though I’m sure that they don’t actively try to preserve there candor (i.e. Wolvie is everywhere and yet he’s NOT a skrull … or a teleporter) even the things that don’t seem to make sense can be explained.
That said. I’m calling it now. War of Kings is going to be ended by shadowcat steering that giant bullet up vulcan’s ass. Then freeing Alex lorna pheonix and the starjammers. That’s just the kind of hap hazard stuff marvel has to offer. :wonder::wonder:

I agree. There are better things to care about than stereotypical fanboy VS Threads. Even in the superhero genre, I still care about craftsmanship, clever writing, and real storytelling. It’s not just about who can beat up whom. I mean, people can argue that Deathstroke can’t beat the JLA all they want, but the bottom line is that it’s just ALL SKILL, BABY.
You must defeat Sheng-Long to stand a chance. And that’s the bottom line.
