Civil War had possibly the worst ending ever.
House of M is still the worst of these events though.
I bought almost every House of M related issue.
The only good ones were the ones with Doom plotting against Magnus.
SI is greater than CW but only because of the scale of the invasion, also CW had a more drastic effect on the marvel universe. Even after SI the registration act is still going to play huge parts in the marvel books. In the long run i give the win to CW because it actually changed the marvel universe for sometime to come and will have lasting effects on lost of characters. Same goes for House of M it sucks balls compared to both events. However it has changed or had a lasting effect on the MU that SI will not.
SI is a really good story, i have a new respect for skrull that i didn’t have for any skrull besides super skrull. I dont think much of anything will change because of the SI outside Stark.
i agree on the ending…i dont think they wanted to split the fans like that but by not making capt the winner i hope the story creator was offered a knapsack of dicks to suck
Not only did civil war finally usher in the era of super hero hatred… it broaden’d the scope of the discrimination from just mutants to powered people…from here on out, expect marvel to play out like days of the future past.
hence why capt couldnt be here right now, he just doesnt fit in in this era…at all…they explained his stance, let us know what capt would do, and thats not to fight against his country or people. hes not like that…but also let us know, “hey back when capt was here, he was our leader, and capt was right, and no one could beat him…but now we have to kill him on that note”

and Doom and magnus interactions are ALWAYS hot… thats why when dark illuminati happens and magneto isnt apart of it, its gonna be some shit, cause soon i can see mag’s becoming the most aggressive son of a bitch in the mutant race…with each step, marvel keeps shitting on mutants , that only brings more power out of a character like him

I will say that out of all the books that has spun out of Civil War, the Initiative book has been awesome especially during this Secret Invasion arc. Antman is just too funny.
I believe they have, and Doom has just instantly turned off his powers.

I can only figure the reasoning behind the Dark Illuminati is the fact that the previous Illuminati fucked up so much with the Hulk fiasco and the Secret Invasion shits over the past years that the bad guys feel they can do a better job of controlling stuff.

Also read Black Panther #28 (from the good Black Panther volume, by Priest) to check out Doom and Magneto in the same comic book. Doom and Magneto had a sort of semi-Illuminati-ish gathering in that issue with two other monarchs, Panther and Namor.
You know i read the Road to Civil War and it seemed like Panther was against the whole forming of that group but it was odd seeing Namor being there though.
But a Doom, Magneto, Panther, and Namor alliance would be too godlike. Nobody would fuck with that group.
Throw in pre-Secret War bullshit Nick Fury and you got a TRUE Illuminati right there with much farther reaching control then a bunch of fools meeting in the club house and getting beat down by skrulls.
Have to say I am not really a fan of the big events so much since they all seem to roll into another one, with no time to catch your breath and give the people time to even play with the new status quo created, but I did really like the new Deadpool tie-in, so it’s not allll bad.

wth are you all talking about? The Illuminati getting Jobbed by Skrull makes great sense if you take it all in context. Illuminati was started to protect and make “hard” decisions that would or should be whats best for protecting earth. But as shown with hulk and the Infinity gems and then the skrull attack its as a great ideal as they thought.
Also the skrulls have studied earth and its heros and been setting up for this invasion for years. They also believe its a holy war and that there destined to inherent earth. So the motive is in place and they have the ablitiy to make a bunch of super skrulls and slip in unnoticed and replace both human aliens and super heros. I mean they even had a plan to get rid of all magic, they were more than prepared.

if you read any of the tie-ins the skrulls have been chillin here on Earth in secret since prior to the Annihilation arc. The Queen was spoutin her religious mumbo jumbo after the whole Illuminati fight and gained followers.
Honestly like i said they would’ve been better off taking the data and the resources and use those Super Skrulls to start regulating against the kree since they got fucked up even more during the Annihilation and aftermath. But now it seems like they’re gonna be on the endangered species list after this whole thing blows over.
I like the Skrull Invasion better than Civil War and House of M.
If you’re keeping tabs, the skrulls here are under a different leader which is why they almost succeeded with their invasion. They became a threat again.
