Spider-Man fought the Thunderbolts in Avengers Invaders #1 which is a non BND book. Just in case, if you haven’t checked that yet.
Latest Black Panther is god-tier. I feel sorry for the Skrulls.
I’m starting to hate this series. I can see it not ending well. I wasn’t as hyped about this as I was about Civil War.
Im slowly going there myself. It is taking too long for something to happen. BP tiein was the only one i liked (biased of course but still)
you are aware by buying the book you are having Hudlin win again everytime there is a tiein sales go up and the book doesnt get the potential axe. So it is fine for me.
As I said in the Marvel Thread, B. Panther 39 is god tier (like what m121akuma posted), even if u dislike SI, read this series’ tie-in its awesome.
LOL, “it’s taking too long.”
I TOLD YOU ALL!!!
FUCK YOU BENDIS!!!
God, I’m so fucking sick of these universe-wide crossovers. Amazing that not only has the actual main miniseries been crawling at a Bendisian pace as expected, but it’s actually somehow managing to absolutely kill like three other books as well. Both Avengers books and the Initiative haven’t told a decent story all fucking year, it’s all just filler crap to tell the backstory of this thing.
Hey Marvel, why don’t you just tell the backstory of Secret Invasion…IN THE ACTUAL SECRET INVASION STORY!?!
God, it’s the perfect series for Bendis. He can do whatever he wants in the main Secret Invasion book, and he’s got three other books to tell do absolutely nothing in.
Same bullshit with House of M, and New Avengers was pumping out those shitty “meanwhile…” issues.
I don’t mind the actual Secret Invasion book telling the Secret Invasion story…but when it invades all these other books (Because it’s a huge, universe-wide crossover event! EPIC!) and actually makes them worse…that’s just dumb to me.
As bad as it gets though, I don’t think anything will ever beat Infinite Crisis in that regard. That was a classic example of “how to fuck up every single property you own with one story.”
…
How 'bout that art, though, eh? My boy Leinil Yu, killing it!
the blame isn’t on bendis. he wanted to keep it in the avengers books. he was outvoted and they made it into a universe wide crossover. although bp #39 was the shit
Why can’t you ever just let me hate in peace?
Gotta disagree on your complaints. Both Avenger books have been nothing but stellar since this Secret Invasion kicked off. We FINALLY got to see what happened to Nick Fury and his plans against the skrulls, how the skrulls managed to take out Electra, Pym, and Spiderwoman, and the procedure that lets them take on human identity. Plus both series are still going to show more on the backstory.
Avenger:The Initiative is another book thats benefited greatly from this storyline. We recently gotten more information on Crusader’s intentions and the Skrull Kill Crew is fittin to make a comeback soon. Plus Skrull Pym’s throwing a skrull in every state.
because that’s boring
Hudlin isn’t writing this arc, Jason Aaron is.
I’m just getting around to reading the last few SI titles.
LOL at Mr Fantastic’s cock needing a high-tech skrull restraining device in one panel. (I would post the image but its against the rules)
Which issue is that?
Secret Invasion #4 1st page panel 4 and 5
When I read these books and I feel nothing afterward(sort of like how you read something and you get the “OMG” feeling due to Geoff Johns’ MUCH better comic book writing skills), then you know the book is trash. New Avengers has been trash ever since. Shit is just a retconning that doesn’t need to happen. “Hey, how do we make the Skrulls cool again? OH RIGHT! Let’s just mash at words and throw them into a 20 page book while we have them blow shit the fuck up in the main book!” No, just no.
You’re telling me the cocktease with Captain America didn’t drag out? That shit lasted like, a hajillion issues. As it stands, Bendis only has Powers and Ultimate Spidey. Everything else he’s writing is trash as of late.
That recent issue in New Avengers with Skrull Captain America was dull and wasn’t needed(which is the only issue of New Avengers that i wish i didn’t buy) but in all honesty i really couldn’t see them cramming all of Nick Fury’s stuff along with all the other revelations into the main Secret Invasion storyline.
Plus we STILL don’t even know what was retconned, yet at least.
I’m sorry but the way Bendis is doing the side back stories with the two Avengers comics works. If Secret Invasion picked up the pace a little then we be good to go.
Only good thing about the Captain Skrullerica was the fight oh and KaZar and Shanna cussing at BND Spidey.
OMFG New Avengers is trash now?!!!
Sad day…I loved that series:shake::sad:
Yeah, it was great when they were just a bunch of G’s running around ruining a villain’s shit just because they wanted to. Nothing happens anymore in the book. Each issue as of late has been a ‘Skrull of the Month’ spread for Bendis.
Actually, I think the Spider-Woman arc is greatness. The Savage Land arc is decent. I think the big issue is trying to do two different arcs simultaneously using alternating issues. They’d be better if he finished one first before starting the other. But since next month’s issue should be back with Spider-Woman, you can bet your ass it will be hot. Don’t believe the hate.
And I don’t see how you could possibly say Mighty Avengers is worse than it was. That was definitely Bendis’s worst book for a while. Now it’s a much better read.
