[details=Spoiler] So the Captain America that attacked Spidey and the Savage Land people gets put down by some tranq darts and reverts to Skrull form. We get some flashback on how this skrull came to be. Apparently the skrulls don’t have alot of intel on many of Earths superheroes save for some information they got from Tony and Reed and there database from back during the Kree/skrull war. When they implant Steve’s memories to this skrull they use stuff from Tony’s memories and twist it to where this imposter Steve thought he was kidnapped.
One of the skrull scientist wonders what the purpose of this process is for and the queen explains that if they just came to Earth and fought in a straight up brawl they would be annihilated since the superheroes in essense don’t fear death and know that they’ll win eventually. But if they sow the seeds of deception then none of the heroes would trust each other. She then tells them to put the skrull Cap in the ship with the other “heroes” and ship them off the earth. They cut to the end of the issue and Spidey and co. here Natasha’s gunshots from the citadel where Tony is building his armor and they head over there.[/details]
Now Avengers:The Initiative was the better of the two simply because we got more info on Crusader and his intentions.

[details=Spoiler]-as per the event of the last issue, Cru’s Freedom Ring reverses the polarity of Delroy’s goggles so he sees every human as a skrull and vice versa. Delroy jacks a quinjet and tries to get Cru to go along with him but he slips out of the quinjet at the last second
-the virus from SI 1 come into play, crash landing the quinjet in a desert. The virus also funks with Cyborg, i mean War Machine who at the brink of death is saved by Bliztshlag (sp?). it is mentioned that Blizshlag once fought Isaiah Bradley aka the “black kaptain amerika”, was War Machine buddies with him?
-you also get the Initiative scene from SI 3 with matching dialouge and everything. some stuff you didnt see in SI 3 however, the incredibly awesome Ant Man slinking away from the crowd and Crusader finally growing the Skrulistcles to see if Yellowjacket reeeeeally is a Skrull
-the rest of the issue is Crusader’s backstory and some of the fighting from SI 3. i assume it is right from the series he was introduced in (Marvel Team Up? IDK…someone help me out). he is trained in Spartan-like conditions, gains a rival who gives him a right nasty scar which ive either never noticed before or just started to be drawn in, goes to earth to gain intel on the Avengers (which probably was supposed to be for the Invasion but that appears to be beyond Cru’s understanding) however when he gets there he finds them disbanded and no way home because hes THAT deep undercover, starts to love earth when he dines on Red Vines and on the flesh of white chick (its interracial AAAAND intergalactic), meets Freedom Ring, reveals himself as a skrull, trains Freedom Ring, watches Freedom Ring get lethally skewered by an alternate reality Tony Stark, and signs the registration act.
-during the battle, Cru encounters the aformentioned rival and guts him afriad of being outed . seemingly repentant for his actions, Cru attempts to keep him alive but the dude does not want to be for Crusader “does not love him anymore” Crusader renounces his skrull heritage for good in awesome monolouge[/details]
Im slowly starting to get disappointed in this story. They are taking too long to get things rolling. We are at the fourth book and they are still in NY.
SI: YA/RA
[details=Spoiler]
Solid read it fills in the blanks of what happens to the team after the first fight. But why do the team look like a bunch of teeny boppers. Or maybe that how a bunch of kids between 12-16 should look like anyway. There isnt that many teens that have an 8 pack you know. Im still going to give this a chance since xa[/details]
Black Panter # 39
[details=Spoiler]
Anyway on to the book. Great so far and the ending may get some people happy and others not so happy regarding the convo
LT: “But sir, our plan has completely fallen apart! Our ships are down, our weapons are destroyed and all of our sleeper agents have been discovered and murdered!”
Commander: “The wakandans managed to kill our agent, its true… But I never said the got them all.” [/details]
If it is true regarding my claim that storm is skrull I expect an apology for the accusations of me being a skrull and zephy for completely negating my reason for storm being a skrull. That is all.
what i want to know is how in the hell the sleeper agents get caught? So far the only way anyone has detected a skrull has been Crusader and 3D Man.
Oh yeah and another thing
Black Panther #39
Brother Voodoo is the skrull not Storm
i know this already if you went up a few posts you would know. So once again my point of storm still stands strong :woot:
my bad…yeah if Storm is a skrull, then the real one is probably chillin with the X-men in San Francisco.
Zephyranthes stopped reading this thread to avoid spoilers. If you PM him about it, you might be spoiling things for him. Aww, he’s a good guy and didn’t mean anything by it really. Do what you want I guess but if I were you I’d let it go. Most of us were saying this and that person is not a Skrull, who knew/knows for certain…
sano is a skrull
This is coming from a guy whose initials are S.K. SK, the first too letters in Skrull? Like Arsenio Hall would say, “Hmmmm…” :badboy:
So BND Spidey is part of the SI tie-ins, here’s hoping the stuff in it aren’t THAT important to the main events.
Oh and the Power Pack vs. Skrulls covers are hilarious-

it is alll fun really. I’ve been let it go regarding the storm thing. but calling me a skrull well :looney:
why would the skrulls even go after the power pack? now this SI thing is going a bit :looney:
Not really. The Spider-Man SI comics are going to focus on Jackpot in NY while Spider-Man is on Savage Land in the main Secret Invasion series. So Spider-Man won’t be the main character, Jackpot will be as she holds off the Skrull invasion from NY and The Daily Bugle (DB).
Oddly enough Heroclix (board game) introduce me to the power pack. They look hecka funny tho. Do they have a on going series or something?
They had an ongoing in the 80s, recently they have been appearing in miniseries. The old series is more darker, tho the current one is very good and a good way to get kids into comics.
@Sano- Jackpot? Who the heck is that?
@trunigga- lol, those Power Pack aren’t part of the main 616 continuity IIRC, but hey Skrulls are everywhere so they wanna make the most of it.
Jackpot is a superhero woman that looks like MJ wearing a costume.
Was it confirmed that she isn’t MJ?
No one knows but I hear Sara Ehret, the lady Jackpot gave as being her secret identity got MJ’s autograph recently. :looney:
I think it has something to do with whatever OMD MJ whispered into Mephisto’s ear, she may have split into 3 people - MJ, Jackpot and Sara Ehret. Maybe she said something like “I want to be Peter Parker’s friend, lover and fight alongside him and I’ll offer you ______” and Mephisto screwed this up for her and made her three people, that’s my guess but who knows. If you jumble the letters in Ehret, you get three. But no no one knows exactly what’s going on there.
I do I do. BND sucks. Although spidey vs tbolts is tempting.
