Seattle (now f--king Oklahoma) sports thread

Well I’m going to the goddamned Mariners Sunday. Section 337, row 10. I’ll bring my DS Lite for their weird DS Lite connectivity thing.

Say hi if you’re there. Fuck Oklahoma.

Couldn’t agree more.

My proposal for the Sonics’ new name is the Oklahoma City Pirates, in honor of the moral character of their ownership. Make it so.

We have no one to blame but the state government. Bennet saw an opportunity, SAW how the state government gets SHIT NOTHING done.

And took advantage.

He got HIS childhood dream at the cost of Seattle’s NBA franchise.

Meanwhile our ELECTED representatives did jack shit.

You do the math.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

So long Seattle SuperSonics. How disappointing.

No thanks to the following…

-City officials
-David Stern
-Clay Bennett
-Howard Schultz
-State Legislature

That Charles Barkley/Dwyane Wade commercial about the NBA socks just inspired me. I think I’m gonna buy some NBA socks and use them to wipe my ass when I cop a squat. Fuck the NBA.

Go Seattle Seahawks
Go Seattle Sounders
Go Seattle Mariners (lol)

It kinda sounds like it’s going to be some kind of Cleveland Browns-type of thing if/when a team forms again in Seattle. Where the OKC team will exist and the the Seattle Sonics will get the name and logo?

If the Blazers would move up to Seattle people in Portland would be on suicide watch  they finally put a good team together if we take that from them who knows what might happen.

Yes, go Seattle Sounders.

It’s bullshit. It’s utter fucking bullshit. The city put us right back at square one, except now we DON’T have a team and no guarantee of a new one. And they still need approval from the same fucking legislature that’s said “fuck you” this whole time.

The only hope we have is if Balmer’s group goes out and buys the Grizzlies RIGHT NOW!!! By the time the legislature does anything (which won’t be until next year at the earliest), it’ll be too late and nobody in Seattle will care. By the time Key Arena is renovated, it’ll be too late. By the time the Hornets have to leave New Orleans, it’ll be too late. By the time an expansion team is available (which could take decades), it’ll be too late.

As it stands, I think we’ve seen the last of the NBA in Seattle.

:wtf: Okay guys, here’s where my regional support and sympathy is going to get stripped naked and killed with gas-powered drills. The Blazers aren’t going anywhere. From what I read in the Portland Tribune when I was up there, the Blazers have control of the Rose and Memorial back after sorting out their financial issues, they’ve got their houses in order, and they’re Portland’s only major team and have a very tight bond with the city. The fans are all over Kevin Pritchard’s nuts, Oden’s apparently doing very well after microfracture and should be at full steam next season, Rudy Fernandez is signing out of Europe, and they think they’ve got a top five draft pick who’s pissed off that ten teams passed on him.

So keep your scorned eyes to yourself. They’re not going to toss all that away just so they can inherit the SuperPirates’ headaches with the Key. Your football and baseball teams have been all over our airwaves for years, and Portland’s almost as big a market for them as you are. You’ll just have to find out what that feels like in basketball once you’re done dropping tears in your beer. :arazz:

(For what it’s worth, I still hope the Blazers beat the Pirates by 60 every time they play. :bluu: )

I don’t care where or when the Oklahoma Asspirates come back to town, I am buying a Seattle Resurrections ticket and booing the FUCK out of them.

SHAME SHAME SHAME

Clayton Bennet is a weasel asshole.

I like the big concession from the NBA is “Yes Your Arena Plan Was Fine All Along”. Fuck the NBA.

You quoted the wrong guy smart one =) I was just replying to another post :arazz:

Well, I could’ve quoted both you and the previous guy, but I figured it was worth an answer after I saw two of 'em. I know, you lost your team, but don’t go turning around expressing hope you can have ours, because you can’t.

You can, however, go turning around expressing hope that I do get my hands on some NBA logo socks. I need them for my dookies.

Okay, I’m good with that. They’re so comfortable.

Aaaaaaand goooooooooodbye Sexson.

Got tickets to the NCAA Men’s Basketball - 1st Round in Portland next year, plus 4-day reservations at the Marriott-Portland.

Color me geeked. Let’s hope a local team is going to be there.

WOO HOO

Yeah.

Those were the days.

Now if they lose this with Felix pitching (5-0 lead 2nd inning), they’re officially hapless this year.

So Branch might be ready for the regular season? Did I miss something? Because that sounds awesome.

Also, next year when the Seahawk practices are open to the public again, I’d totally love to go.
