Seattle (now f--king Oklahoma) sports thread

This is admittedly redundant with any number of threads in General Discussion, but OH WELL.

Hey, how about that ace Bedard not getting out of the fifth inning today? Good thing the Rangers can’t field.

Also, too bad about the Cougs. Still, UNC is great, and you never expect WSU to get anywhere, so top 16 is great.

While I was at work for most of Bedard’s outing… what I saw was pretty solid. He threw a shit ton of pitches though.

I think he’ll be bad ass this year… and if he’s anything like he is on my MLB 2k8 Mariners, he’ll be a Cy Young winner!

Also, I’m glad I got my new TV and HD cable and all that in time for baseball season

Here’s hoping the Mariners take the AL West this year.

They have the pitching staff and coaches to do it! Sexson needs to make it so people forget we have a DH that well…hits for contact. Wii.

I read in the newspaper yesterday that apparently David Stern said there’s a good chance that a team will move to Seattle after we lose the Sonics. My guess is that if we were to get a different team, it’d be the gross ass Memphis Grizzlies. While New Orleans is having massive attendance issues, they can play the “it’s New Orleans!” card and give us a barely not as shitty as our current team, team.

Discuss.

Went to the Kings vs. Sonics games Sunday, to bad they lost but Cesar (KYO84) randomly caught a shirt thrown into the crowd lol, Durant and Green are too good. Whats going on with the team moving, is it a sure thing? Miss the Payton/Kemp days.

Were they game-worn shirts that day? Because I hear that the Sonics aren’t bothering to keep their jerseys these days. Something about “shame”…

Speaking of shame, WTH Putz.

Wow… harsh.

I swear to god I jinxed him. I was literally in the middle of commenting on how he hardly ever blows saves to my Dad when “bink”…

Yeah, hopefully that’s his one blown save of the season.

I’m goin to the game tonight woo!

I fucking hope we don’t get the Grizzlies.

Putz is injured :frowning:

which kind of explains last night

That’s not good. I’ll get my Closer resume ready. For example, I have listened to the Nine Inch Nails album.

Last night was the Texas Rangers. I don’t feel too bad about the M’s losing to them - they’re the RowTron of baseball. Amazing offense some days, and other days you wonder what the hell they’re thinking as they just keep mashing.

As far as the Emerald City Event Center, hopefully it has a smashing great arcade. I don’t see that happening. And the Grizzlies? I wouldn’t care if the Sonics sucked (waiiiiiiit… they do) you don’t play NBA Musical Chairs. That’s pretty awful. I was watching some Jordan / Reggie Miller highlights yesterday and was wistful about when basketball was fun to watch. =P

I would help if we didnt leave 15 runners LOB last night.

Well were 2-2 now arg this team is getting so much hype for being good this year but I haven’t really seen much yet

That guy at the Orioles game who caught Vidro’s home run is tight. “We’re down 2-0 but I got the ball! Woot!”

I like Seattle fans better - throw the ball back. =\

EDIT: That was a strange error from Green…

Anyone want to explain me what in the hell are the Mariners doing? Another blown save? :annoy:

That was a pretty truly horrible ending. This is a pretty random situation so far. Maybe management will stop trading away stud relievers now. =P

swept by the Orioles, ugh. At least it was close.
