This happens EVERY year without fail. Some “supervirus” that’s supposed to wipe everyone out. First it was swine flu, then avian flu, now ebola. Granted we’ve heard the stories of people shitting out their organs but that’ll stop when Africa gets real health care to stop that sort of thing (so, probably never.)

Nurses across america say MAJORITY hospitals AREN’T prepared to handle ebola. They haven’t had any special training for dealing with ebola patients, in many cases haven’t even been briefed on the symptoms, and certainly don’t have enough real ppe like you’ve seen in hospital pics the cdc and government used in “don’t worry” articles. White house and CDC got caught in a lie. Banning travel to and from affected areas before the west africans try to pull an exodus would be the simplest and most effective thing to do at this point.

One of the reasons to transport victims to more developed countries is to monitor them during treatment. This is the only way to evaluate treatments as effective or not. Africa doesnt have the capabilities. In this way, bringing in ebola may be the best way to actually protect the country. Of course the country also has to understand what they are dealing with and take appropriate precautions.
