After talking to the SC2 club president, we will be running the tournament along with their tournament to make it feasible.

Ricardo you would be welcome to play SC2 as well, as i’m sure there is some good comp in our city. (pick it up and be the ruler if you don’t already play!)

their tournaments last roughly 5-8 hours so it sounds like we’ll have the venue for the day, meaning we’ll be able to run more games, which is good. We will have an online sign up for the tournament.

I’m meeting with him on thursday, and I will have more details then, and I will go look at the matrix and talk to the staff there to see what we will have on hand equipment wise.

I wish I knew how to play SC2 but I have no idea where to start or what it’s even all about lol. The tournament sounds exciting though and Im glad we got something going, its been like a long ass time since saskatoon had a tournament so good work man.

On a different note gootecks is quitting the scene…cant say Im sad to see him go lol. Maybe its just me but I was never really comfortable wit the"face"of the FGC being a unemployed admitted doper. Always thought someone like daigo or maybe even wong would have been a better choice, but anyways it seems like he got what he needed outta this whole FGC thing so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what he decides to leech off next.

Damn Im doing terrible in rank today…law is so defensive that I cant even be the least bit mentally exhausted otherwise I’ll get blown up for free.

I can’t imagine playing with a partner though, Im so familiar with cammy and law that the thought of having to trust another player would be a disaster. Besides I have no clue who i would even ask or who would accept ha.

You should play with someone in random ranked/endless matches, and not care about winning/losing or how much your BP is changing.

You’d probably be surprised how fun it is.

Anyways dudes I was having this little discussion over the balance in SF4 and I argued that SF4 is not a well balanced game due to half of its roster not being tournament winning characters. I argued that the game does have a high number of competitive characters but a lot level of actual tournament viable characters. I also argued that a characters worth should be determined by performance and that this should be what determines tiers. I dont know how the rest of you feel over SF4 in terms of balance, but this is how I see the balance in this game.

Non Tournament Winning Characters:

Dan,Hakan,DJ,Blanka,Hawk,Vega,Honda,El Fuerte,Gen,Dudley

Potential Tournament Winning Characters:

Guy,Juri,E.Ryu,Oni,Chun,Gief,Cammy,Balrog,Ken,Adon,M.Bison

Inconsistent Tournament Winning Characters:

Sagat,Rufus,Gouken,Sakura,Makoto,Yun,Yang,Adon,Fei,Ibuki,Guile,Sim,Cody

True Tournament Winning Characters:

Seth,Ryu,Viper,Akuma

Rufus has won more tournies than any those characters except maybe Viper. Fei has won as much or more as well.

Fei only won a few during AE days, I highly doubt he has won more then them and I also have the same doubts with Rufus.

Where are you getting these statistics? Fei won a lot in super and in Ae, also ya where is rufus? and if were counting every game in the series why is Ryu up there? wheres Sagat? and again why isint Fei up there?

Also ya i guess i shoulda realized your just trolling if you honestly think thats how Guilty Gear and Kof works. I highley doubt you’ve even watched a single high level match of Guilty Gear. Fei was won during AE and is still winning. Rufus has won multiple majors in every iteration of this game.

It’s hard to make useful conclusions on tiers when you don’t have a clue about tourney stats.

Why is vega below E Ryu? Vega seems pretty popular and was in sbo and all that jazz. I never see E Ryus’s Also honda was pretty fucking good. Also didnt Fei still win a lot of things in Super? or got very close? that was when Mago was playing him and telling everyone how fucking great he was but nobody listened.

Gen just won OHNX. Mike Ross has won Box Arena events with Honda. Joz has won tournies with Vega.

I only qualify japanease tournaments in my tier listing since they are the beat in the world. The way I see it if characters aren’t competing well over there then that’s the best indicator of how good that character is.

Really? If that is the case then why isn’t Fei at the top since he is still currently winning? Ryu and Akuma haven’t done jack shit in japan in two years and Seth has never done anything.

I think people just didn’t know how fight fei, he kind of came out of nowhere and caught a lot of people off guard like adon did.

Fei is over hyped IMO.

He loses to guile,balrog,honda,adon,sim and possibly seth. I think the fact that those characters arent really popular in japan might be the reason he does so good.

uryo, sako, daigo, and mago think fei is top 5 at worst in 2012.

Mago told me rog and honda are bad matches for fei. I have also heard that adon is a bad match for fei and I think akuma.seth and possibly sim could be argued as a potential bad match for fei.

They "think"he’s top 5 but I don’t think they had any tournament data to support this view. Daigo also thinks E.ryu can win tournaments but it has yet to happen.
