You should drop this ass game and go back to 3s, a game you supposedly love and were supposedly good at.
you’re smart. but let ric come, you don’t have to talk to him. his presence isn’t harming you and he’s done nothing in person at tournaments to show me that he has violent behavior. I think that paying venue fee and running brackets for 5$ is feasible. Do you even want an event here? Do you even live in Sask? Are you even going to attend said event? If not, why you spouting off like you have a big say in whats going to happen?
I think its kind of sad that people are scared of ric. What could he possibly do to physically hurt anyone, people would stop that shit in an instant. You don’t like him? Guess what, thats life. Sometimes people you don’t like are gonna be around? Guess what you do… be civil about it, nobodies forcing you to play with him, and if you have a match with him, and really despise him, forfeit it. Nobody is gonna call down on you for it. You only chime in with negative retorts, and usually you just use big words to try and make yourself seem like your opinion holds value over everybody elses, but it doesn’t. You’d be welcome at whatever event happens, but I think you need to either lighten up, or stop attacking ric because he’s been well behaved since coming back for the 1000th time.
Evo is actually handling this trolling well for once. TrollThisSRK, get off his nuts before another infraction party.
I’m curious as to why Ric has been given so many chances. Evo is his 4th account.
Evan it’s time for you to let the past be the past. I don’t understand the source behind your hostility or why you feel the need to constantly post some discouraging remark about me but enough is enough.
I don’t know if your confrontational attitude towards me is due to the situation with allison a few years back or because of something I might have said or done to you in the past, but its been about a full year since we last spoke or even seen each other in person so I don’t understand why you insist on keeping this attitude towards me. I don’t see the benefit or purpose in you persistently provoking me or trying to convince the community that im a “bad guy”. Nearly every post you have made in the past few months has been in reference to me and most of it has been similar in content…so why bother to post if your just going to repeat the same opinion about me every single time.
This community has finally started to regain some credibility after years of turmoil, and for the first time in quite a long time the discussion and activity in this thread is revolved around a actual game and not some personal drama made public. The players here are legitimately interested in gatherings and having a fun time playing the games, were all trying to improve and share in a similar interest and hobby…so I dont get why you cant just move on and fun like the rest of us are trying to do. From what I understand jeremie, dar and you have been gathering for games for the last few months after dustin stopped hosting and not once have I ever seen you go out of your way to invite other players or make it known that some events are still happening in the city. Instead you have spent your time trying to incite some response from me in the hopes that I will be banned for the drama that would ensue. Nothing about that is productive or beneficial to anyone, all it does is create division in a community that is already struggling enough as it is.
I’ve done my best to ignore you in hopes that you would get the point that I’m not interesting in fighting with you, but clearly you seemed determined to instigate some type of conflict between us. Unfortunately for you I still have no such interest and wont for…well forever basically. I really do think that if your a fan of the games and want to see the community grow that its time for you to move on from the past and and let it go. There is nothing to be gained in consistently trying to start up trouble with me, because truth be told no one here is really that concerned with it and everybody here would rather just play games and have a good time. This isn’t to say I’m perfect and that I haven’t made mistakes, but what good is there in dwelling in the past. Not to mention why would you as a person want to constantly engage with someone or a situation that you obviously dislike. More then likely nothing can be done or said to change that particular person or thing so if you already know that well in advance why not just ignore it instead of actively pursuing it.
Case in point, the situation with me and the calgary community. I made a lot of mistakes these past months with the calgary community that eventually lead to me getting banned from canada cup. Ultimately it was because I was trying to force a apology from the people there who had wronged me, and when that didn’t happen I lashed out on the entire community including the canada cup gaming staff. My error was not in defending myself but rather in the expectation I had on other people, this of course being the expectation of a apology. What made it worst is that I took this anger out against a lot of people, people who legitimately are nice guys in person and who didn’t really deserve to be dragged into this drama that was unrelated to them. In time I realized that I couldnt do anything to try and convince the calgary guys of my position or why I felt justified for the things I said and did, so instead of expecting and hoping they would understand things from my perspective I just let it go and realized it was a lost cause. In the end though I lost out because now im banned from the biggest tournament in canada and alienated from a entire province of players who are less then 10 hours away.
My inability to get over the past completely destroyed my reputation as not only a player but as a person too, and now as a result a lot of people in this community think very low of me. This is why I apologized to the staff of canada cup when my ban was over, it was to show that while I can’t take back my mistakes I could at least admit to my faults and acknowledge I was wrong and hopefully from this apology move on to a better place. I fully recognize that the situation I had with the calgary community got out of control and that I could have handled it a lot better which is why I have not attempted to call any of them out since the time my ban was lifted. Instead of dwelling on that situation and the things said and holding it against those guys, im making the effort to turn the other cheek and show that I’m letting the past be where it belongs. I will probably never get a apology back or acknowledgement from any of them that they were also wrong in that situation, but thats fine because my motives to want to improve are out of a sincere desire to have fun and treat other people with respect and civility. In time if all wounds heal I hope things can get back to the way they were before all the drama…and if not then that’s just something I will have to deal with and move on.

At the end of the day evan, is this grudge really worth it and is it really the best way to help this community grow. Dustin is hosting again, people are excited about a new game that nearly everybody is playing and this thread is active with legitimate discussion…I see it as a great opportunity to start over again and build something new. If you want to continue on this path and continue to hate me that is your choice, but I’m through with the drama and I’m not that guy anymore so I hope you do let things go because I think you could really be a good benefit to the community. Either way man its your choice so do what you think is right, but just know that regardless if you decide to move on or not that I and the rest of the community already have.
I don’t necessarily agree with SRK’s rules, but that’s the way they are. Unless someone does something particularly offensive (death threat etc.), their account is banned for a specific period of time, and they can come back. If they immediately violate the rules again, they can be instabanned. I read through, and Evo has been ignoring the trolling while actually posting normal FGC discussion.
If you guys can’t handle that due to a personal dislike and have to resort to personal insults, then it’s not really his fault. Keep it clean unless he gives good reason.
I’m getting my connection upgraded today so hopefully my games locally are smoother. It’s a wireless connection for now but I’ll be getting it wired sometime this week or on the weekend.
I do love 3s Shane but unfotunarely it’s not the game it used to be. No one on a massive scale will play it anymore to warrant a return from most players. If sfxt hadn’t been releases I probably would have eventually mained it again, but sfxt isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. You should give it a chance, akuma isn’t that bad in the game and his pressure might actually mean more here then it did in sf4. Don’t judge the game to harshly, it’s actually pretty fun and fairly rewarding…it’s not perfect but it has potential.
To get some game discussion going: what do guys think about the importance of team synergy in sfxt? Its definitely less then marvel, without DHC or assists. Feels more like each character is separate. At the same time I’ve seen some crazy tag cancel technology. (played with a guy who used one of steves long animation specials to tag into law and do a charge super…super combos for one meter)
I think it feels a bit pointless to be honest. I was never a fan of the tekken tag system, I always though it was kind of dumb to have 2 characters yet only one of them needs to be KOed to count as a 1 round victory. It makes the matches drag to long and it defeats the purpose of a “team dynamic” IMO.
I would have preferred something to the effect of the tag system in NGBC, which requires you to eliminate both members in order to win the match.
Not sure. not very good at the game yet, but all i know is i’m having fun with it.
This game is ass dude. I predict it won’t be long before most others feel the same. Remember when Marvel came out and how everybody played that? Everybody gave it a chance, but most people who weren’t Marvel heads dropped it. Same with MK, and MK is a deece game. SFxT is a poorly designed and conceived game. It is entertaining at first. Huge combos and shiny graphics will do that. But the shallow one dimensional gameplay isn’t for me. Nor is the inevitable utterly broken top tier characters we are starting to see. (Kazuya)
You want to play it, go ahead. But it isn’t Street Fighter and thus you will probably never get good at it. Me, I will play games I like and ones I don’t have to learn all over again.
You say that Ric but look at your signature. I will end it there.
actually i find sf x tekken to be very footsie oriented, which is sick!
i respect u a lot though, and im curious to see why u dont consider it to be a street fighter game?
I’m glad SFXT doesn’t have shallow gameplay like SF4.
Well the chain combos, the rolls and the damage scalling are admittedly stupid but I think the game does empahsis footsies which has always been a crucial aspect in sf games.
I get where your coming from because I hate playing mvc3 and I can’t really play mk9 that well. However sf4 is in a lot of ways not a real sf game either but you still play it, so why turn away from sfxt completely. Like granted the game appears to be terribly balanced and it’s quite unfortunate that the top tiers are obvious by week 1, but I think it has potential to grow and develop if capcom handles it’s updates correctly.
Hey Freddy who are you maining?
im practicing Law, and I love Nina. though Gief/Rufus absolutely own me thus far. so may need to switch at least 1 to a zoning style char.
I dropped Hwoa cause i think that character is fraudlike
It is footsie oriented, which is good. However it’s basically only footsie oriented, which is bad. SF has always been about gameplay diversity and risk vs reward. This game discards both of those aspects, which is fine because it’s intended to be it’s own thing. However I find the homogeneous gameplay to be bland. Everybody is looking for the same thing, land a poke into damage, and not much else at this point.
The game simply doesn’t jive with me, and I suspect it will wear thin on others soon enough. Regardless with games like KOF around which rewards skill more than most if not all current fighters I see no reason to play this game.
We’ll see how it goes when SFxT Champion Turbo Hyper Super edition 2013 is released.
Ha were keeping the Bruce lee spirit alive fred…bu holy shit rufus, rolento, gief and vega are fucking matches from hell. I don’t get why law can’t have at least 1 AA…like even dan and hakon have more reliable AA options then law. I don’t get the design choice when it came to law, especially with characters like rufus or akuma in the roster.
I got me ass whopped by a vega who literally just spammed me with normals all day and I couldn’t do a thing other then block and HOPE he fucked up…such ass balancin choices I swear.
Anyways Shane isn’t kof13 similar to sfxt?
A team system, normals that lead into big damage and a very "free"juggle system. It seems like a capcom take on kof13 IMO except with better pokes and more footsies.
Alberta here, I see lighting fires and visiting the corner gas got old so now theres internal drama o.o
I kid of course, its 5:40 and I’m still in my pajamas bored.
No. All gameplay styles are viable, no tag system, requires actual execution and is like 1000X faster. SFxT is KOF with all the good stuff removed.
