Sanwa JLF's vs LS-32/40

I’m going to get an ls-32-01 to put in my madcatz se for shooters. The deadzone in the stock stick (brawlstick/tutsounko) is really annoying.

I say for anyone who wants to know whats the best stick they should just buy each 32/56/40 and if they don’t like it pawn her off to someone who does in the trader you may end up loosing a $15 but hell at least you would know who going to satisfy you in that special way. In my personal experience I need to feel it, play it, rub it all over that shaft and ball to know which is for me peoples options don’t cut it and if she doesn’t treat me right I find the street value and sell that hooker cause, she not for me (well I would if I only had one case and limited funds)…I guess I have room in my heart for all different stick shafts and shapes

Dude, it’s a joy stick, not a sex toy.

As for buying them all, not all of us have money to throw away

my mistake

well I guess you will not understand the JOY of all of them in their own unique attributes words are words you got to feel all to understand…

LS-32 is a really solid stick, and many japanese pro 3s players prefer them. I’ve always preferred them to JLF. I still find the JLF to be an exceptional stick. I prefer the extra tension. as for the pop-out issue. ive never experienced it. maybe its because i dont play heavy and dont use my elbows to help with movement like its a stiff american stick(p360 in particular) and grind the corners. apparently, you play like that, i assume

but dont come in here and tell me the stick is for scrubs and loli players. just cuz it doesnt work for you, doesnt mean shit to us. its not the sticks fault. It’s obviously not for you, and that’s fine. but to say its shit, is absolutely retarded. especially considering the stick has to travel less distance. to me, thats a big deal.

I remember going from a jlf to an ls32 for the first time and it felt natural. i never felt like I had to get used to it. But maybe its the old arcade player in me that was forced t obe well versed in many different sticks due to arcades changing em or going to another arcade that used totally different sticks, back in the day.

Hey guys, it’s been a week or so since I’ve been using my LS-32 and I’ve noticed that the stick “wobbles” a bit at neutral position(without hitting any switches). Am I being to rough on my stick or does this normally happen with wear and tear? Don’t think this ever happened with my JLF.

Is there anything I can do, like open the stick up and tighten something?

Yeah I use two LS-32s in a couple different sticks and they both wobble in neutral position. Not a big deal.

Dont be bothered by that, its normal in seimitsus…btw, the same thing happens to JLF later due the use.

How is the center wobble on the LS 40 when compared to the LS 32? I have been using a LS 32 for almost a year now and the wobble still bothers me. I had the chance to play on a LS 33 last week that had been transplanted into a Namco and it was beautiful - no wobble and a very short engage. I was hoping I might get similar results with a LS 40. It would go in a HRAP 2 SA, so mounting a LS 33 is out of the question.

I find that old Seimitus are WAYYY nicer than old JLFs.
They don’t change as much after a few months play.

Then again, I’m not too hard on my sticks.

That’s because LS-33 (also 55) has no pivot. The wobble is a common pivot issue that lives in both sanwa and seimitsu sticks, except for seimitsu ls33/55. The wobble in ls40 is minimum but is still there.

It seems like my seimitsu sticks feels smoother after few months, i thought it could be my impression but i can believe every word you said.

Cool, thanks.

I actually find it to be the opposite. My theory is that the metal tabs on the Seimisu microswitches bend and wear out over time, which changes the feel of the stick in a more drastic way than a worn out spring. This might even be what causes the ‘wobble’ that people talk about. I like the stiffness and response of a brand new LS-32 better than anything else, but I’ve never had one that retained its feel over time as well as a Sanwa JLF.

Tell that to all the OG Japanese ST players.

jlf square gate for old school fighters like capcom vs snk 2.
ls-56-01 with octogonal gate for fighters like guilty gear A core.
but thats just me.
dragon punches are less consistent for me on ls-56,…which is why i prefer the jlf for the "shin shoryukens!!!"
but the ls-56 makes doing 66/44 air dashes and doing half circles(majorly prevelant in GG) much much easier.

you never mentioned exactly which fighters you prefer?

i believe sticks are like golf clubs.
you want the right stick for a particularly demanding game.
it won’t change your gameplay much, but it may help a tad.

Well, a month and a bit later after purchasing my LS-32, I’ve decided to switch back to the JLF. I liked the spring and feel of the LS-32, but eventually I found the small gate to be a problem when playing SF. I’d be hitting jump when all I wanted was a forward or back. I decided to put the LS-32 spring into the JLF and now it feels sweet, but removing the C-clip from the LS-32 was most painful process I have ever experienced. I NEVER EVER WANT TO EXPERIENCE IT AGAIN.

Once you have the proper tool, the C-ring is the easiest clip to remove than any other E-clip.

I’ve used just about every japanese stick out there. In the end, I stuck with the stock JLF. First stick I bought was a HRAP2:SA (Sanwa parts) and I hated it. Felt too loose, sloppy, and my execution was all over the place. Afterwards, I branched out into Seimitsu and bought a LS-56, LS-40, and LS-32. Didn’t care for the LS-32 much. LS-56 was great at first but I found that it was too stiff. The LS-40, however, felt perfect at the time. It has the smooth pivot of a JLF with a very short throw which was exactly what I was looking for in a stick.

I basically ended up learning how to use a joystick on an LS-40, but I agree with RoboKrikit in that the LS-40 is quite error-prone. Eventually, I retried the JLF and haven’t looked back. The LS-32 I didn’t care for before became my favorite Seimitsu stick, since despite its somewhat stiffer feel, is the most similar to a JLF imo.

Like others have said though, just stick with whatever you end up with first, learn it, and then decide if you want to switch.

I went with the LS32 with a roundgate in my EX-SE, didn’t mind it, I was going to put one into my VXSA, but I decided to get experimental and stuck with the VXSA’s JLF, but dropped in the LS32 spring and one of those LizardLick GT-C Sanwa roundgates. Never going back. The JLF feels way less sloppy with the tighter spring, but feels like it has a little more throw than the LS32 with a roundgate-this set up gives me the exact feel I wanted. Loving it.

Trying to understand what exactly make the LS-40 a error-prone. I saw very high level on KOF tournaments, which probably they’re using an LS-40, including SDM combos.
