Just got my LS-32 from Akihabara Shop and loving it. I might prefer the JLF for QCF characters, but the LS-32 is definitely the way to go for charge characters esp. Balrog
One day I might try the LS-40, but I don’t know what the difference is meant to be between that and the LS-32. Is the LS-40 meant to be stiffer?
The 32 is slightly stiffer than 40, althought both 2 share the same spring, the 32 shaft is heavier and the result is a sturdy joystick. The 40 is a little bit lighter with a more plastic feeling, slightly shorter throw and engagement, which makes a masterpiece to play fast games overall. The 56 is also great for that, but the very stiff spring makes that the “spring cover” rub hard against the plastic, and the result is a slightly grind feeling…anyway is a great stick.
I think people that play using the wrist harder may like ls-32 over ls-40, people that play relaxed can play with less effort and perform very fast moments using the fingers on ls-40.
Popup stops getting annoying after a day or so when you get used to the stick. Took me a while to get used to it, had to delay my button presses because I was negative edging moves when I didn’t mean too. I also was finally able to switch up my grip. Until there are low-profile HAPP parts or I get my hands on a stick with a Fanta, I will be sticking with Seimitsu sticks.
I have tried: JLF, LS-32, LS-40, LS-56.
Out of the box, my favorite is the LS-32. With modifications, I am stuck between JLF w/ harder spring and LS-36.
All preference in the end.
JLF with a tighter spring (LS-55) is fine for shmups. I can’t tell much a difference between it and the LS-32. And this is coming from someone who almost exclusively plays shmups.
You say this in every darn thread you pop up in!
You have a psychotic hatred of one piece of hardware… Let it go and stay out of threads where people are asking questions instead of repeating your tired mantra.
This DOESN’T help people…! Let them decide for themselves and choose whatever’s comfortable for them.
Umm, you just quoted the first time I gave my opinion on the stick, idiot.
I’d like people to be informed, not hoodwinked by randoms who’ve never played anything outside of loli fighters by themselves in story mode.
The LS-32 is shit for fighters. The switches are the opposite of what you want for fighters, and the pop-out alone should disqualify it from serious play
I play all my loli fighters by myself in story mode on a tear-stained custom waifu pillow with embedded JLF and Sanwa buttons. I only use the LS-32 for real fighting games.
Gorath, while I share your opinion on the JLF vs. LS-32, it is just that, an opinion based on personal experience.
George, JDM is right, you’re accusing the wrong guy (can’t find any instance of him shoving his opinion on the matter in his post history) and infracting based on this is bad form.
How about we do this. You two will drop the issue and never mention anything about it again, and we’re all fine. If not, well we all know the consequences.
P. Gorath has been on an anti-LS-32 streak in 3 separate threads since he got his and didn’t like it. His opinion, just post a counter-opinion if you disagree.
P. Gorath: If you are still after a tighter stick you might wanna try the LS-40, or the cheap LS-32 mod with LS-40 parts (aka LS-36). The LS-40 is really tight (as in short engagement) and you have to be very precise with it. If you played on SNK candy cabs they probably had an LS-40. It doesn’t have the jumping issue. The LS-36 mod fixes the LS-32 jumping issue but it will still feel closer to an LS-32.
The LS-56 actuates quickly like the LS-40 and has a very stiff spring, but it has a little bit of the jump issue and a ‘grindy’ quality to the pivot. LS-56 is the only stick around with a decent octo gate (IMO) and feels good with a bat top with its heavy spring.
If it is really the switches themselves you hate, no Seimitsu is for you.
